Need long term review of SeaDek vs carpet

Will, I gave you one of my very few dislikes!

I'd love to give you my money for an interior snap in set for my 08 SX230. Between the screws in my floor panel, and my aversion to gluing stuff down, I'm interested. Happy to be a guinea pig over here...Maybe I can get one for the group buy in November if you change your mind! I have the exterior set on my boat, just need the snap in for the inside.

(And $1300 for Marine Mat seems a little too steep for my blood)
We asked SeaDek to let us amend the fabrication protocol to better accommodate our customers but they said no can do. The way they install snap down product will not allow for factory snap locations to be used. That's a deal killer for us so we did not get behind it.

I've had snow camo seadek on my boat for over 7 years. About once a year I spray it down with soap and water and that's it. No scrubbing. The white has turned to a light gray and the other grays have gotten darker but other than that there has been no peeling or shrinking of any kind. Due to the pattern you can't see any dings or dents so it looks just like the day I installed it. I've put over 200 hrs on it. It's one of my favorite upgrades.

Any chance of an oversize kit and DIY snap install?

There is a chance if you upgrade to new SeaDek you won't see the shrink issue again. There has been a new development which helps with dimensional stability and the shrink problem may be gone or at least greatly diminished.
I sure hope so. Honestly not happy about it at all. It is because of heat/sun as the pad under the bench seat is not nearly as warped. Like 90% less shrinkage. That said, at this point, the girlfriend wants to try a new batch out as she really likes it. She said hell no to the factory carpet so it looks like I'll be in the buy next month.

Good deal. I'll try to get more data about the new material.

What kind of "brush" does everyone use to clean their Sea Deck? I have some mild all purpose cleaner, is a "tire brush" acceptable or what works well and doesn't scuff the Sea Deck?
I am using Better Boat Deck Brush, it's a great brush for the boat. Despite having soft bristles, it does a great job in removing any stains and it doesn't scruff the sea deck. I think the tire brush will scuff the Sea Deck.

Probably been asked, but how does Sea Deck do with dog claws compared to the rubberized swim deck material? The black material on our swim deck is getting a few claw marks in it.

Thanks.
