New 210 FSH - taking delivery soon - what to check

I just picked up a fsh 195 a few weeks ago. I also have that thing on the glove box. I just figured it was normal. I use the on board cooler for towel storage. It's easy to get at and is right by the swimming platform.
The biggest piece of advice I can give anyone with a new Yamaha is check for water leaks, check for water leaks. And then check for water leaks.

Good luck with the new boat. Looks great,

Tom

the little thing on the glove box is totally normal... it's the back side of the anchor that holds "door restraint tether" to keep the door from falling all the way down (and possibly damaging the hinge)... you can remove the little piece of tape.

Winder what happened to the “door restraint tether”? MIA

Lots of great suggestions from others. I think the main thing is to just pay attention and don't assume since it's a new boat everything is right. My boat had the livewell air hose disconnected so was dripping into the bilge. No major problems but a lot of minor things. Also if you are using in saltwater expect to be doing some modifications to the trailer. I had to replace the lights pretty early on and brake calipers in a year.

Mine lasted 3 dunks! Brand new trailer lights needed!
