New member! - 2021 252SE in Round Rock, TX

Welcome, welcome, welcome! It is a very classy looking boat! And it seems to be an excellent upgrade from the 242 series and worthy of the 252 name if only for features, let alone 6". Nice job, enjoy what your hard work has afforded you!

Time to look into the tower mounted toddler swing!

Congratulations and welcome! Beautiful boat....you WILL love it. Bought my 242 Limited SE May 2016. 5th season on the water and absolutely love it....no complaints whatsoever! :Welcome:

I'll tell you this much, after years (literally) of checking out Yamaha boats and doing endless hours of comparison and analysis... I came *this* close to buying a 2020 242SE. But I had heard that Yamaha was going to be doing 25 footers in 2021 and really wanted to see what they came up. Plus, the wife was pregnant with our first and I felt like having a baby AND buying a boat at the same time would just be too crazy. So I passed at the time. I have had showroom time with both the AR240 and the 242/252SE and, in all honesty, I sincerely felt that the SE models were well worth the extra money for the additional features that they have. Thats just my opinion though.

I can guarantee you this - you *will not* be disappointed in choosing the 252SE. It's far better than my fevered daydreams could conjure up... I honestly feel like if I (and this is just me personally) would have gotten the AR250, I would have wanted the upgrades afforded by the 252SE. Specifically, the MASSIVE Bimini top (I love it so bad...), the convertible stern seating (I didn't think I'd like it as much as I do - the wife is a big fan of this too), the full-sized Connext screen and the fly-by-wire throttles. The sound system is no slouch either. Long story short - WORTH IT

Picked it up today! This thing is awesome. However it is now getting cold up here but I still took it home. Going to try taking a quick road trip before I winterize it. Of corse, they don’t have any premium black covers for the boat in stock yet. Using the white on e to transport it and just dissembling and resembling it each time.

wow. That is sweet. I am new here as of today. And you have got me pumped. Im waiting for my 252SD with the same colour choice as yours (love it) and last month I bought a Dodge 1500 Hemi to pull it. It’s great to see some real life pics AND to see the boat in context with a truck. Thank you for those. Enjoy and congratulations. so awesome.

I Just picked up my AR250 the day before yesterday. First impressions are its nice, never stepped foot on a 252s, so glad to know I don’t know what I’m missing. Purposely made some waves during the test drive to see how it felt on rougher water, it was pretty smooth. Effortlessly gets to 30 with full fuel and three adults. I didn’t want to push it any faster until I get the break in completed and oil changed. I have found one small issue with the swivel on the passenger side captains chair, the latch mechanism was broke. I hope it’s not a sign of things to come. Everything said, it’s a price point boat and I understand that going in and so far, I’m impressed.

Is the white shipping cover made to cover tower in folded position or does it cover when it's up?

No, the tower and Bimini frame is extended above the cover similar how the stick out and seal around like the mooring covers. A dealer posted a picture of a new one still wrapped up I’m trying to find the pic again for you.

found it..

:Welcome:
Congrats on the new boat.
I had a similar issue where the fwd/back slide for the passenger seat would not lock in. I had the dealer fix it at the 10hr service and they said it was just installed wrong and the spring was blocking the latch from locking in to place. This would be an issue with the supplier for the chairs, although Yamaha quality control missed it. That was back in June and it has worked perfectly all summer. Other than a couple loose nuts or screws, no other issues.

Here's a tip - if you want to swivel the captain's chair around, remove the seat from the pedestal (it just slides up off the pedestal with a bit of wiggling) and remove the bolt that's inside the tube. The bolt stops the chair so it doesn't hit the throttles - safety feature I guess. Mine now swivels 180 degrees around to turn into a lounging seat great for conversation. Just remember to loosen the knob that holds it tight to the pedestal, and also slide the seat forward if needed to clear the throttles.

Hey everyone! LONG time lurker, first post and finally a card-carrying forum member. Picked up my 2021 252SE yesterday from the local dealer and, after a brief outing on Lake Travis here in central Texas, brought her home and couldn't be happier. I am a fairly young guy (33) and I've been working hard towards owning my own boat since my early/mid 20's - FINALLY made it happen! I have been stalking these forums for years enviously reading about Yamahas as I've had my heart set on one forever, can't tell you how good it feels to, at long last, be part of this community.

I wanted to create a intro post here and also offer up answers to any questions folks might have about the new 2021 25 foot boats because Yamaha seems to be plugging the really high-end wakesports models (for obvious reasons...) and not giving proper shrift to the other phenomenal boats they're making. I searched high and low for info on the 252SE's ever since the 2021 launch announcement in August and there's just not a ton of info out there at all... So if you have anything you'd like to know about it, feel free to ask and I'll do my best to get you an answer. For now, here's some pics of the rig!

Thanks and hope to see y'all out on the water!

Congrats, thats a sweet boat.

So I had the AR250 on the water today. Did a break in for 30 min according to the manual. Still gotta go for another run before it’s fully broke in. I’m at the “no more than 6k rpm” part. So at 5500 rpm, she cruises nicely at 29-32 mph on a smooth lake, 4 kids and three adults with not a lot of gear. Handles the waves smooth. Can’t wait to get a top speed run in to see what it’ll do!!!

Clark hill SC TODAY WAS 82 partly cloudy with a 5 mph breeze:cool:

My boat, 195FSH Deluxe was delivered to Cycle Springs two weeks ago. The custom hardtop and the Elite Ti-2 12" were installed. My Minn Kota iPilot will be delivered to the dealer on Wednesday, 10/28. Sea Trial and delivery is Wednesday, 11/04.

got the same exact boat as our first. Couldn't have made a better choice. I'm STOKED for you!

Amazing boat... enjoy it!

Congrats enjoy it in good health! Get you a stoltz trailer roller and some cobra jet steering and you’ll be good to go. How did you do with close to retail? Did they charge a ton for freight and prep? What was your OTD?

Welcome and beautiful boat. Exciting to see it, I have the same one on order but still about 4 months before it’s boating season here so I will live vicariously through you!
Please keep us updated on performance and handling as you get it through break in. Looking forward to your posts!

Considering its a brand new boat in a market where demand far exceeds supply, there's not much to be had out there in terms of "deals". MSRP is kind of where everything is at right now because every dealer knows if you don't buy it, someone 100% will. Freight/prep from my dealer was just the cost of the freight, plus batteries and the full leakdown test and everything. I got some quotes from about 3 other dealers within about 100 miles of where I live and where I bought it had the lowest cost for freight/prep.
