Chris here. New boater, long time PWC owner. Frequent Lake Norman, Lake Wylie, Lake Wateree. Ordered and just received last weekend a Chaparral 223 VR twin 250. Looking forward to years of fun.

Welcome! I sure miss Wateree. Used to boat there often when I was at Shaw.

Congrats on the new purchase. Chaparral makes a great boat.

Welcome Aboard! Hope the rain was not too tough on you.

Welcome aboard @ChrisM and congrats on the new boat.

Congratulation to your new 223 VR . I will make a Test run tommorw. I will use the boat in and around Bath N.C.

Welcome aboard and congrats!

Congrats! We have been on Norman and Wylie. It is good to see water levels back up. Enjoy the new ride. She is a beauty!

Finally hit the 10 hour mark today, top speed of 62, then 63 just after this pic, with an option of 64 running down stream.
Worse gas mileage than my Jeep Wrangler, oil change is now due, a few minor technical bumps along the way, but worth every penny of it...!!!

Nice!

Thanks for sharing this,it sounds good.I will make a test run with a 223 VR twin 150 on Tuesday next week. What engines do you have ?

I test drove this 2015 model before deciding on what to order, it might have had twin 150's, I really don't remember. It was just at it's 10 hour break-in, I didn't feel the power provided was adequate enough for the size of the boat. Keep in mind I've never owned, or driven any boat, and can only compare to my Seadoo PWC ownership for many years. If the VR you are test driving is under the 10 hour mark, the computer will be limiting the RPM output, which may not give you an accurate assessment of what the engines can do. Unfortunately since I expect a boat to perform like my Seadoo, since that's all I've known, I can say I'm very satisfied with engine choice I made.
