So I got a new fusion stereo hooked up and now want to get the new Garmin setup as well.

I know I can call Garmin but Figured someone might have a quick answer on here before monday.

Does the Garmin need the NMEA 2000 powered up as well as its own power connector or can the NMEA power the Garmin as well?

Can the Transducer be mounted inside the hull of the boat and shoot through it or should I mount it on the back just under the swimdeck underwater light? Don't really need it but I like bells and whistles and wouldn't mind seeing the sonar pictures as well.

Guess I'll be calling Harmon to find out best transducer for using from inside the hull. I like that option much better

Trying to avoid the 1" hole you have to drill to get the wire to it plus the three extra mounting screw holes in the outside of the hull.....all below the waterline

Actually I didn't know that. I haven't messed with a fish finder/sonar since 30yrs ago and it was a circular light that had blips on it.

Thanks for the enlightenment.
