Guest, we are pleased to announce that Hydrophase Ridesteady is offering an extra $100 off for JETBOATERS.NET members on any Ridesteady for Yamaha Speed Control system purchased through March 7th, 2025. Ridesteady is a speed control system (“cruise control”) that uses GPS satellites or engine RPM to keep your boat at the set speed you choose. On twin engine boats, it will also automatically synchronize your engines.
I will be honest, I never used it. We went to the beach a few times a year and I planned to use it there but after the boat purchase I didn't need it. We don't go on shore or beach the boat so I have no need for all the bells and whistles.
Some interesting cooler videos I ran across over the weekend...
A bit long-winded so you may want to skip around. He also put his opinions and results in the description of the video if you just want to know how they performed...
Personally my thoughts on coolers are that I'm never going to spend the ridiculous amounts for a Yeti or similarly priced cooler. That money would buy me LOTS of ice. I use cheap coolers for the most part and while yes the ice does melt faster than an expensive cooler, it's never fully gone for the time we're out using it. If I were camping for a weekend away from civilization then yea I'd want a cooler to hold ice for days but the reality is I never go camping for days so there is no justification for me to spend that kind of money on a "day trip" cooler.
I've been back and forth a million times on this. I have a 190. I bought the AO Stow and Go and returned it because I don't think I need something that big. I only need a 20 or 30 can cooler, not a 40. Just not sure where to store it if I get the Rtic.
Thanks no drama cooler thread... i now have a Ozark Trail Softsided cooler to try out under the seat. I'll report the zipper is very.... stiff.... maybe it needs broken in or a splash of water to loosen up... if not I'll be loading it up with silicone spray lube...

In my 230 the storage behind the drivers seat is 15.1 inches deep. The rtic 20 is 15 inches tall. And even if it doesn't sit in there well it can go in the head compartment or the ski locker without taking up too much room. I ordered one last night. They were on sale for 107. We normally use the cheap coolers but we are obviously hard on them. The corners break or they start leaking. I am hoping this one cooler will last for us. If it doesn't I only paid 107 for it. Take the 30 out for a Coleman and its a 77 dollar risk. I am comfortable with that.

This arrived today, seems quite nice. Hard on the inside, no zipper to futz with. Top presses into the bottom with a velco latch. Need to see if it will fit into the opening under the starboard seat.
I cant remember exactly since I have had three other brand soft coolers as well. If memory serves me correctly, it looks like carmex lip balm but in a generic white tube. I believe it was attached to the zipper or in the front pocket when I returned it. In either case, it is an easy fix. You can either use lip balm or buy another brand for about $6. That will solve your problem.
