Put my AR 190 in water for test run and fired right up but couldn't go anywhere with wake mode or full throttle. Like no propulsion. Any ideas?

I did the same thing first go this year. Left my clean out plugs in the shed at home!:banghead:

Sounds like the clean out plug. At least you remembered to take off the rear trailer straps. Our first launch this year and forget them. Well now we know the boat will hold up the trailer!!!

Clean out plug?? LOL..I guess I should review the manual! In my defense had an experienced boater with me and he had no clue what was wrong

Happens to all of us. Even the veterans sometimes forget.

Haha...thank god we were the only ones at boat launch because we looked like complete idiots!!:banghead:

Hoping this is the problem and nothing major. We got a call in for a repair guy to look at the boat . We got dock and boat lift going in Tues. and we need to be ready for Memorial weekend !

We never had Spring service so it went straight in water after winterization. So makes sense clean out plugs aren't seated I guess. Now I'm watching YouTube videos haha..

@DAMATS Don't waste your money on a repair guy...you've got us! Next time create a post and in the body of the post type @ and the word help (all together) and it will alert a team of us to your need. Our response time has averaged 5 minutes.

Now just put the plugs in...all the way....lock them....and pull on them HARD to make sure they are seated....and go boating!

Yea even an experienced boater won't know about clean out plugs unless he knows Yamaha jetboats. Only Yamaha baby!!

He has a 190 so only one clean out plug. It is under the access panel that is the upper swim deck.

It is not going to perform well with a 6" hole in the pump. Many of us have experienced this!

Just line up the plug and it will seat right, and as stated pull it tight a few times and you will be good to go. If this isn't the issue use the @ h e l p to get a quick response at the water to help you further!

Just a little info @DAMATS. The cleanout plugs not only give you access to clean out debris from the intakes and impeller but it also directs the thrust generated by the impeller out the back of the boat. We've all done this several times.

Be sure to remove your cleanout plugs after every trip. Some members on here have nightmare stories to tell of their cleanout plugs getting stuck. If you remove them every time you should not have any issues.

As silly as it sounds, I keep a written list of stuff to remember when getting ready to pull out for the lake and one of things to do before launch. With everyone around me excited to get on the water it's hard to stay on track sometimes. I also keep a spare set of keys in my tow vehicle so I don't ruin the day getting to the launch with no way to crank up (yes, I bump the motor before I leave, but I can be goofy with regard to sitting down keys and forgetting them). Last, but not least, I keep a spare drain plug attached to my boat key chain to remind myself one last time to check my drain plugs.

@DAMATS , just wait until the first time you launch without the drain plug in!
Yeah, we've all done the cleanout plug thing too. I remember thinking "oh, crap, second outing with the boat and it's busted already!!!".
Something I found very helpful, especially when the boat was new to us, was/is txav8r's check list: https://jetboaters.net/threads/txav8rs-prelaunch-through-recovery-checklist.92/#post-87731
Made some modifications to suit our situation (for example, our boat is on a lift so some of the trailer stuff does not apply BUT the list becomes even more important when we do need to use the trailer.
Enjoy the boat!

rear straps still attached - did that one
forgot to put in clean out plug - did that one
forgot to put in the transom drain plug - did that one (bilge pump saved me, it was tied at the dock and I'm wondering why the bilge running so much, always turn y the bilge on before you turn on the engines)
ran out of gas - did that one
forgot the boat keys - pending

I've forgotten my boat keys. Luckily I keep the spare set in the car glove compartment so it wasn't that big of an issue. Weekend could then proceed as planned.

I lost the keys off the swim deck while driving to the ramp once. Found them in the intersection where I had to make a hard left turn. Did not have spares - do now!
