Open offer sept 3rd falls lake

As the title says this is an open/standing offer for anyone who finds themselves at falls lake on the 3rd of sept. Labor day. I have rented shelter number 6 at sandling beach and am having a pot luck with a bunch of our friends and their families. This is an open invite to anyone who would like to stop by and say hi or anyone who doesn't have plans and would like to come. This is a family friendly event. Everyone will be bringing their kids.. also this will be a SAFE event sence most there will either be current or former law enforcement. There are a lot of people who don't know each other but know us and are just coming to have a good time. All of my jetboaters.net family are welcome. If you would like to officially join and want to bring a dish let me know your email and I'll add you to an email that shows what each family is bringing. The shelter is rented from 7 am till 830 pm... the target tine to eat is approximately 1330 to 1!

OK so I am new to Falls Lake and I am confused. Sandling Beach area does not offer access to Falls Lake right? or am I missing something?

Yes sandling beach is on falls lake... there is a swim beach and a boat beach... we will be at shelter number 6.. it's right on the water.

There is a boat ramp on the east side of highway 50... you drive your boat around to the sandling beach area.

Yes u can I'll see if I can find a map to send to u.... you can go from interstate 85 all the way down to the dam in raleigh.. any ramp will let u travel the length of the lake EXCEPT for a small section on the east side of hwy 50 that is set aside for only canoes and paddle boards and stuff. But it's just a small finger of the lake ... 90% is wide open.

Number one is the only marina on the lake. Number 2 is the sandling beach recreation area. that's where my cookout is going to be on sept 3rd. The jetboaters.net get together the following weekend sept 10 will be roughly in the same area of the lake. Ill let @Julian figure out exactly where he likes to anchor and we will go there. Number 3 is the hwy 50 boat ramp. You can launch there and drive around to the sandling beach area. Area number 4 is the area i mention that is for non powered equipment. All the rest of the lake all the way to the dam is wide open. with a few no wake zones in between.

Man I feel better now. I was looking on Google Maps and it shows Sandling Beach Rec Area in the Beaver Dam Lake section. I put in at the Highway 50 ramp this last Saturday. I know where you are now! Thanks again!

This is what I was seeing and why I was confused (red your spot and blue what I was looking at)

Side note - is it just me or are there a bunch of Yamaha's on Falls Lake? (mostly 242 and 212 from what I saw.) I am what seems to be to the only 190 out there from what I see so flag me down and say HI - I want to meet you all!

yes there are a lot.. and i try to speak to every one i can to see if they are a member!! lol man i need to remember to bring the few business cards i have left.

if u look at your map.. the read arrow is sandling beach swim area.. thats a no go for boats.. but if u look just north of it along the chore line the is a small sandy area there. That is the boat beach. u can beach your boat there (if you do that sort of thing) of anchor right on the sand. Just a tick north of that will be where the pot luck will be on sept 3rd.

Here it is and I've noted your best choices and spots:

• Yellow dot is the Sandling boat beach
• Red dot is our favorite cove
• Purple Triangles are the two easiest ramps to use for that part of the lake. The one at Rollingview is nice...and usually unoccupied as it is a little longer to drive to)
• Directly above mile marker 9 is "Tree Swing cove"....big tree swing in there (I know...like you wouldn't have guessed! LOL)
• Ramp #2 (#2 in a triangle-I've never used, but I've heard can be shallow)

Ramp #2 is the only one I've ever used there, and I love it. Maybe not with an I/O, but no problem at all with a Jet. 4-6' deep between there and the bridge, no problem at all. Don't head the other way though...

We just got to looking at the email you sent us about this trip where you put the invitation out to us but the date says Sept. 10th. We just wanted to confirm what the actual date was so we don't come down on the wrong gate if we do decide to come. BTW, thanks so much for the invite! Much appreciated!
