Finally getting our boat, just waiting for the financing to wrap up and the GPS unit to be installed. Our dealer helped us out...held onto the boat for us with just a deposit while we finished up our house refinance. We were calling around and they had this boat coming in...hadn't even listed it yet, so we jumped on it.

This is our first boat and I'm trying to get everything squared away that we'll need to get out on the water. We went with a Garmin 94SV GPS unit with the blue charts and GT56 transducer. Dealer also has a Yamaha cover we're purchasing. Plan on purchasing the Yamaha anchor kit. Boat already comes with life vests and fire extinguisher. I got in on the JetBoatPilot Thrust Vector group buy...heck those will be here tomorrow.

What else are "must haves" for our new boat? Mixture of salt water and fresh water use...I see that many people recommend silicone spray to spray down things for protection. I keep seeing folks mention keel guards and also replacement rollers?

So much to take in...this forum and the FB groups have been a ton of help.

Congrats!

In addition to using silicone for protection, give your clean out plugs a good hosing to keep them as good as possible and to make removal and installation super easy.

Any other must haves are dependent on what you are going to use the boat for. Sounds like you are off to a good start on the accessories. ? I would recommend you get one of those valves for the end of the hose to use when you flush the engines.

Very Important-when flushing start the engine first before turning on the flushing water. When done, turn the water off first before shutting off the engine.

Installing an onboard battery charger for your house and start batteries while the boat is not in use will assure that your batteries are fully charged each time you take the boat out.

Thanks! Yup, I already have a dual battery charger in mind...will be snagging one asap. The thrust vectors showed up today...man they don't mess around with shipping things out.

Should be picking up our boat later today. They got the Garmin 94SV installed, but didn't finish until end of business yesterday. Hoping to get it out to a lake or something this weekend to start the break in process and try to learn the boat. 2 other things I know I'll need are a set of guide posts for the trailer and a spare tire. Kinda silly these trailers don't come with a spare.

Do you mind posting a pic of how the transducer was installed please! ?

Thanks! I have a 2022 on order and bought the 93sv and am curious where they put it and routed the wire.

I had originally planned on doing the install myself, but they didn't charge too much to install, so I let them handle it. I also need to install my battery charger set up.

Thats good! Yeah depending on the cost I might have them do that. Did you buy a separate battery for the Garmin or is it run off the house?

If they are going to put it on the transom they need to just not slap in the middle. If you ever decide you want trim tabs someday it would have to be removed and repositioned. Some fore thought may make that smoother in the future if you go the trim tab route for any reason.

I believe it's running off the house battery. I didn't purchase any additional battery.

True. I guess I'll see when I pick it up late today.

Looks like a sweet ride! Congrats!

bubba goin be happy! Congrats and break it in well.

Once you test it out report back. That looks like it could be too high to register good at speed. It also looks like side vue (scan) could be impeded that high on your port side. Would like to know the actual results.
