How did you undermount the starboard?

I remade the mount so it looks more factory, plus i upgraded to a 9 inch simrad so it needed to be beefier

I like it, but can't figure out how you were able to secure it from below? How much starboard were you able to get below the lip? 1"?

I looked for a picture i had of the underside somewhere but cant find it. I can get a new picture the next time I am in the boat.
But there is all of 3 to 4 inches under the lip with 5 screws in it. There is definitely more hidden under than showing and its rock solid
