Should the forum allow Politics and religion etc to be discussed in posts?

Doing my Jetboaters.net duty and voted! Any more polls out there that need attention today? ;)

Um what is the boats and babes section is this some kind of private club I was not invited to? I now feel like the last kid picked in dodgeball what the heck. :(
I'm officially late to the party - holy cow!

Oh my its so graphic! I didn't realize ping pong balls could come out of there but how is she supposed to return the serve sitting like that and I'm just assuming she is using the floor of the SX240 as the table. I wonder how well the ball bounced off the Seadek?

As a former moderator on the other site, I can tell you that even though the Politics forum was by request only, it caused a lot of division and dissension that caused quite a few members to leave. We are not interested in having even 1 member leave because of political offense. There are so many places on the internet to talk politics if one wants, so I remain pleased that we stick to boats and other non-divisive topics on jetboaters.net. The difference with the Boats and Babes section is that all the people that choose to subscribe and participate usually agree on what is being posted. Therefore, there is nothing to argue.

Yeah, it's fine, I don't really care either way..... it's just something that makes me shake my head.

Oh well..More Boats and Babes!

We (@Bruce and I) have noticed a couple of photos posted with Prominent political flags featured in them (and we've had members formally complain about this). We appreciate your political advocacy but would gently request that you refrain from posting these photos as our membership has voted to keep this home on the internet apolitical.

Thanks!

We have admins with widely varying political views but we as admins as well as the member vote agree that this forum should remain free of politics.

Discussing politics and having a Trump flag visible in your photos are two very different things in my opinion!

Agreed, but when the photo is mostly of a political flag it becomes a slippery slope. So we decided to get out in front of this to ensure we don't get into a flag posting and counter posting "battle".

I'm sorry, but whoever was so offended to 'formally' complain should really grow the hell up.

Sean, the stated policy is no politics. The reports were based on a violation of that rule. It would not matter what political position was being advertised. The adult position is to follow the rules and allow the forum to operate as a politics free environment.

by posting about it . Has that not brought more attention to it otherwise?

There's a significant difference between discussing politics and having a political flag 'prominently displayed' (whatever that means) within a picture of your boat. I don't post any of that here anyway, but it's a little shocking that an adult felt the need to complain about it. I'm not alone in these thoughts, as you've likely seen here and in the simultaneous post that was just removed on FB.

Sean I believe the post you are referring to on Facebook was not in a JetBoaters group.

However the childish flag posting game that has been played on Facebook would violate long standing rules and is not welcome here.

Yeah, I formally complained. This was my second formal complaint here, if I recall, the first had to do with Clemons tiger cameo appearances after he was banned.

I joined this forum in 2015, I like this forum. I don’t come here to hear about anyone’s politics.

If the vote at the top of this thread and the “no politics/no religion” rules apply, those are pretty simple rules. No?

You see what politics breeds? I was over on the "dark side" for a few years where the political forum spilled out to the other forums. Wasn't pretty.

A flag with a Swastika on it is also a political flag but it should be offensive to everybody. Once you open the door you can't close it. You can't say "I can display my flag but you can't display yours".

This is the best run forum I've seen. Unlike the other jetboat site nobody here asks for donations, asks you to buy from the company store, removes posts they may not like or bans people for no reason. If you like politics you can join yamahajetboaters.com and enjoy. Then come back here when you need an educated answer to your boat problems.
By the way...If you mention our forum's website on the other site, you will be banned.
