Possible ENGINE OVERHEAT on my SS TANGO :(

After rereading your first post, does the engine actually quit running or does it just seem to loose thrust and slow like it's slipping ? If thats the case it's as simple as something caught in the pump, it can be very small it doesn't take much.I would without question find a different mechanic,the first one sounds a little iffy

I used to have a 2004 Sugar Sand Tango. I am not aware of any cooling pee holes. I can tell you that when I had the Tango, we tubed, etc, just as you did shutting the engines down with no problems. You mentioned it earlier, but one of the things I discovered was there was an oil reservoir and then also an emergency oil reservoir. If the emergency reservoir got low, the boat would beep while running every 15 seconds or so. I never experience the issues you are describing.

I took boat out twice since my purchase last month, for a total of 4 hours....Went tubing and boat started right up and ran fine for about 2.5 hours.. I was afraid the pull rope would get sucked up into the intake so I turned the boat off and on about 6-8 times during the course of 2 hours of tubing with the boys..... Out of the blue (no alarms) the boat won't go to full throttle and begins "slowing down" on its own before stalling out. I restart it and can't get it to go over 10mph or it stalls out...so I take it in and let it set for about 1/2 hour....try to get it going again and as soon as it gets up to about 15 mph it feels like it is gonna stall out again.....I took it to mechanic who said two out of the six cylinders r not firing and I need to replace the switch box and trigger.

Had the work done on boat and it is running so much better.

I edited several posts to remove the OPs username. The OP has responded by email and seems to be happy with the removal of identifying information. And the threads remain for future members with similar issues.

@Scottintexas, I also can not find a way for a user to delete their account. Initially I wanted to let the OP delete their own. Some add ons are available to allow users to delete their account. I may add one.

This is our first experience with a user leaving the forum so it is a learning experience. Sorry for the confusion.
