Questions regarding possible cavitation

Thanks for the explanation. So would you say that silicone being so poorly done/missing in places would be a potential cause?
Yes. That would cause turbulence through the pumps. You would need to remove the sealant and replace a new smooth bed of silicone. Do not try to call over old sealant.

Thanks for the response. Next time I know I won't be going out for at least 24 hours I will put some new silicone on the grates.
