I think we passed you at one point, was a great day to be out. To answer whoever asked, Ebenezer is now open (was closed most of last year), and crowd was not bad. I should clarify: launching around 11:30 was wide open, getting back around 4 was a bit crowded but everyone was behaving. If anything, the wind was the only thing causing problems at the ramp.

Yeah ebenezer was the one I think that was under construction last year. Isn't that one a pretty small ramp? Like only 20-30 spots? It wasn't all that warm this weekend, we'll see what peak summer numbers bring. I will say all the pay lots for Jordan were nice last year. Crazy busy, but people seemed to keep their cool. We use the New Hope ramp as our local ramp and it got jammed, but with 6 ramps it's hard to get it crazy to the point people start fighting like Farrington. We got caught in a storm one day and dropped my neighbor off on the side and he managed to get down a lane that people weren't blocking and got us on. Normally my wife backs up, but in stressful situations I wanted someone with backing experience.

Happy Memorial Day folks and thanks to all that have served!

@Julian you thinking about trying to organize a formal meet this summer?

Hey all, how was your ramp experience on the first big weekend of the year? We went out on Monday to Jordan, arriving about 11 and they were limiting the entry to seaforth (it didn’t look full, so seemed like they were alternately closing it so cars waiting to pay wouldn’t back up onto the highway). So we rolled up to crosswinds and paid the extra fee there to avoid the hassle.

We were out of town so no boating for us on the holiday weekend, but we were at Vista Point last Wednesday and only 2 of the 4 lanes were operational--looked like the floating dock portion for the other pair of lanes was broken. I guess one of the lanes with the broken dock was semi-operational, it would work for a family that can drop the boat and just have someone drive the boat away while another person parks (we're not there yet, but we're working on it). The other lane with the broken dock actually had the broken dock laying across the lane.

Not sure if it's all been fixed or not; would have been a bummer to have that still broken for the holiday weekend.

Gaston sounds fine, I'd be OK with Kerr too since I've never been there. Gives me a good excuse:winkingthumbsup" . I would day trip as I imagine a bunch of other people would do.

Personally, my calendar is filling up for the summer with other trips, birthdays and I have a kid leaving for college in mid-August. I'll throw out July 24-25 or August 7-8 as potential dates and see what others think. Saturday or Sunday would work fine.

What's everyone else think?

I was out on Falls Lake Yesterday.....saw a couple of Yamahas, and a Jetboaters.net tire cover (not mine) on a trailer in the Marina.
We have only been out 4 or 5 times so far this season, but yesterday was a great day. Had a full crew on board, including 3 of my grandkids. Tons of Yamahas on Jordan. Busy at New hope boat ramp, and when we were recovering our boat, I was backed in next to another guy and we said hello, great day etc. He looked at me and asked if I was a member on here. Our boats approached our trailers at the same time, but it seemed like I blinked and he was pulling the boat up the ramp. It was like a F1 Red Bull pit crew. I don't think I have seen it done faster; great job !

@Julian I am game for Gaston, since I have never been there.

Love Kerr lake, spent most of last summer up there due to the lack of open ramps at Jordan. Any of those dates work.

@Julian this one.... proposed a couple dates up above.

I generally don't do this, but going to attempt to go out on a holiday weekend. Thinking either early Sunday or later Sunday.

Have fun and be safe! We're not even going to bother trying to go out there over the holiday weekend.

Have fun and let us know how it goes. We are planning to go to Jordan on Monday in the late afternoon
I'm gonna run down to Jordan right quick sans boat to take a look. We passed the lake at noon and it looked like a normal Sat.

We went to Jordan today. Arrived at Seaforth by 10am and left by 3pm. No waiting time at the ramp to launch and to retrieve. Planning to go tomorrow again, maybe a little bit earlier.
