I just caught the thread title and wanted to put this little nugget of info in here for anybody who needs to separate anything bonded with 3m5200 or caulking. Often 5200 will pull the gel off when separating something that's bonded with 5200. Fear not! This stuff is worth every penny! I just used it removing a chain guide from a flat gel coated surface. It was about 2 square feet of stainless bonded to fiberglass with 5200. A bunch of this solvent and a little prying it came off with no damage to the gel coat.
