Removing Keys

I keep my boat in a slip and always remove the keys. I have a spare set hidden in the boat just incase I forget them or happen to lose them. We have had an occasion or two where late night visitors got on the boat and "checked" things out....ended up losing a wake board. You just hope that when things like that happen....they don't try to destroy your boat.

Never ever on a trailer. My dad has a dock in his back yard and the boat keys go in the glove box for the last 20+ years. You can hotwire a boat in 30 seconds. Anybody that wants to steal your boat won't care if there are keys or not. Leaving the keys in the ignition is asking for someone to joyride it even if they do not consider that theft.

Not sure why anyone would leave the keys in the ignition, that seems like asking for someone to take off with it.

I trailer every time and I don’t leave mine in. But I definitely need to get an extra set and hide them onboard somewhere just in case I forget the primary set at home.

I always take them out and I leave them in my truck, I also have a set I keep hidden in the boat for the time, that I'm sure will happen, I leave the other keys at home.

On the actual key switch if you unscrew it and pull it down a little you’ll see a key code number and you can just go to your dealer and get spare keys or order them online.
