Rust on props

This is the first jet boat Ive owned. It does sound like ac"rattle" when I start it on the trailer after pulling out of water. All I have to compare to is two ther units I have test drove in recent years. I dont believe it is cavitating any. It feels smooth on the water and runs well, tooping out at 51mph around 7800-7900 rpms.

I think Im going to get it to the dealer soon to show them in hopes they will accept responsibility and not try to blaim any of this on me.

That is very informative! Sounds like you don't have any serious problems for sure! No way you would be getting those numbers, so that is great! And, some weird sounds/vibes when you pull out would be normal.

I didn't buy mine new (115 hours instead of 5.9) but it had similar white dot corrosion in the intake and rust on the impellers. It strangely had "always" been in freshwater too. I believe it to be related to leaving the boat in the water for extended periods of time. Lakewater can still have a harmful ph and dock areas may have conditions supporting electrolysis beyond the protection of anodes. You can see some comparative pics in my thread on the clean-up. https://jetboaters.net/threads/diy-...-pump-pulls-cone-lube-check.8059/#post-151122
I had one of the two impellers pictured refurbished by impros two years prior due to leading edge damage. The rust on the starboard hasn't gotten any worse with care.

My prior boat was purchased by my dad when I was in fourth grade (I got to help pick). It was like new for 15 years until he started to store it outside. Then for one year, he left it in the water for a full year. In that year it rapidly deteriorated blistering the gel coat, corroding the exposed outboard engine surfaces and cracking a plastic through-hull that led it to take on (and hold) water which rotted out wood under the fiberglass in the back. It was such a POS at that point my first boat was free when I asked him for it. Well... free until I made it a project and rebuilt to like new after 20+ years. I see what their lake does to boats that sit in the (fresh)water. It does not take long.
