Hey folks, looking to swap the factory phone holder with the Scanstrut Rokk charger the newer 255’s come with on my ‘21 FSH.

The install is simple, but the one fear I have is drilling into the fragile acrylic dash on these 255 FSH’s.

I’ve read I need acrylic drill bits like Norseman or Tapplastics.

Has anyone done this mod or even drilled into the black acrylic dash before? I’m petrified to do so for fear of shattering or severely cracking it!!

I put one in my ar250. I just used blue painters tape to reduce cracking where I drilled. No issues

Yes but my dash is all acrylic with fiberglass behind it. I’m not concerned drilling into fiberglass, is the fragile acrylic layer on the top that scares me. Correct me if I’m wrong but the AR does not have an acrylic dash or components, so I’m guessing you installed yours on fiberglass.

My boat has that same black acrylic or whatever it is with fiber glass beneath it. It’s fine to drill through. Yamaha does it to put the scan strut in the newer ideas
