Shelbyville Illinois, July 31th to August 2nd 2015

I think Lake Michigan is actually better fishing, but it's more of a Sea than a lake.

Although I'm sure the fishing at Shelbyville is great. This Minnesota trip isn't only about the fishing. It's a guys only week of fishing with my Dad, Brother, Brother in law, and nephews. We did this trip about 8 years ago and it was one of the best times I've ever had.
That being said, I'm still going to see if I can figure out a way to be at Shelbyville. :D

Just want to remind everyone that they do need to book Lithia early.

You usually cannot reserve a slip until March 1, 2015. On that day, make sure you call within the first couple hours. However, now that they are so use to us, they usually make sure we all get slips even if we have to be paired up in a houseboat slip. It is not a huge hassle to launch and retrieve everyday, but it sure is convenient for the boat to already be on the water. Anyhow, I look forward to meeting up with you!

Reservations can be made beginning March 2nd at 8:00 AM http://www.lithiamarina.com/take-action/

Got ours this morning! Looking forward to seeing you all!

Called and am in the call back list.

I am sooooooo excited to meet all of you! My slip is E4, come and find me, I will likely take the week off without pay to hang out with all of you cool people. I only know one other Yamaha jet boater on "my" lake. I'm not sure if he's joined this forum yet, I'll try to get him connected to this thread.

Right now I'm watching the plows push 8 inches of snow around, so talking about boating is already warming me up!

@BAC.94, @sstegh, and @jcyamaharider sadly the Deer Trail 9 hole course closest to Lithia Springs just closed last season, but Eagle Creek is not far in Findlay, minutes away from Shelbyville) and it is a beautiful course on the lake. Unfortunately, Eagle Creek Resort WITH boat dock is also closed, only the golf course is open right now. A round of golf on weekdays is $30 and the weekend rate is $35. It's a gorgeous course and a beautiful view of the lake from the 14th hole! Here's some more info: http://www.golfillinois.com/departments/resortreviews/eagle-creek-resort-159.htm
My daughter and I would love to play a round with any of you. Yes, us girls like jet boats AND golf. ;) I would be happy to organize tee times when we get closer to the date.

I'm not sure if any of you want to stay anywhere other than Lithia, but below I've attached a link to local accommodations from my website (I own an events venue.) If there are any of you who don't acquire access to a slip, there is an amazing rental home blocks from the 9th street boat ramp (which is right across from Lithia Marina.) The house has 5 bedrooms and can sleep 15 people, it's great for families. The name is Kaskia Woods Estate. We also have a B&B in town, Tink and Mike are awesome and stock the guest fridge with beer and wine!!!!! They don't welcome small children because there house is not child proofed.

I'm done babbling. Can't wait.

@MutherTucker, I think I met you during last year's gathering. My slip for the week was on E dock. I remember walking back to my truck one day and seeing a young lady on a yamaha with a BUNCH of speakers hanging off the tower. I think I said hi and made some smart-ass comment about the speakers. Anyway, I look forward to formally meeting you this time. The shelbyville event is a blast with about 100 fun-loving people to hang out with, I know you and your family will enjoy yourselves.

Thank you for the info on the golf courses, im sure we will start to organize that as the date gets closer. It would be great if you and your daughter would join us.

I'm following your gas tank thread with high hopes. Let us know if there is anything we can do to help make sure it's ready for the season.

We used to go up to Sioux Narrows on LOW every summer for 2 weeks...amazing fishing up there....but you can probably go any weekend! Shelbyville is a one weekend a year event...and I drove there from NC to attend last year....it is that great a group of people!

If you need a contact for an AWESOME cabin/house in Sioux Narrows let me know....this photo was taken from the house

@MutherTucker. Do you have the latest information on Eagle Creek resort Hotel? Has repairing the facility resumed or is remodeling still on hold?

campground was nice last year, however we tented it. We would not have had room for all that, we did fit our boat and truck though. The rv sites may be larger.

It's a mess. They did get a professional company to come in and run the golf course, but the hotel still remains abandoned. ;/
