Sucked up a rope, got it out, but can’t engage forward or reverse

@Inthrustwetrust I think you mean you place the clean out plugs sideways on top of the hole, correct?

Seems like a a lot people do that, I can’t get the swim deck hatch closed if they are sideways. I also
Sometimes just set them back in with the tabs not aligned so the rubber part isn’t fully into the pump cavity. I think the water drains out better upside down. My dealer also put globs of grease on them at the service they did a few weeks ago, so I don’t like them touching anything as it makes a mess
 
Our plugs are different so I guess that makes sense.

I thought the same thing. You have to put the angled side of the black plastic sideways in the hole, then the cover will close.

I’ll have to try it, water definitely drains better when they are sideways.
