Things to know about break-in period?

I purchased a new 195HO over the winter and putting it in the water this weekend for the first time. Have read a lot about the break in period - know that I should get full power around 7 hrs and the need to take it to the dealer after to give the boat the once over and change fluids. ANYTHING ELSE I SHOULD KNOW? (Dealer was not very knowledgeable) Should I run very low RPM for a while starting out? Any specifics? Anything else i should do or not do? Thanks

run through all the options you have and make sure things work and work again. You want to know of any issues before you take it in for its check up.
The Scarabs have the same engines ( #Rotax ) as the Chaparrals, so look back in some of the old posts in both the Scarab and Chaparral sections of this site, to see what others asked and learned along the way. Mostly enjoy.

Like @BobJohnson mentioned, make sure everything works. You will only have 60% power for the first 7 hours, you will then see higher rpms when you go from 7 to 9 hours. Go though your owners manual, it gives good info on break-in. There is a repository that @ScarabMike put together on the Scarab forum site, look through that also. Enjoy you new Scarab!!

My ski mode worked with zero hours but since then (now have 5hrs) ski mode will not accelerate. Not sure if this is normal till the break in period is over??? Time will tell shortly.

I had my new boat (2014 215HO) in the water for first time today. Had my delivery with 2 hours with captain on boat. So wasn't on it too long.

We had rough waters here today, 20+mph winds..

Very happy with how well boat handled in the rough water..
