To the folks thinking of buying a Yamaha: I will never buy one again.

Here are my kids and their friends having a shitty time on our POS. FB_IMG_1508544676579.jpg

As much as I hate Yamaha right now I wouldn't call their boats POSs. My frustration is they have recognized and fixed their mistakes in newer products. They are evolving the boats and making them better +100. My problem is that they refuse to stand behind their product by fixing known defects -1000.

Are those 3d lettering registration sticks? What font?
Nope, just a standard outlined vinyl in a Batman forever font. Was trying to keep it somewhat like the factory font.

You know how they sell extended warranties? I'd like the opposite option. That I get zero warranty, in exchange for $2k-$5k. That way I would not be disappointed by crappy warranty service. I admit it's a big reason of why I buy used. I have not received a warranty experience ever that was superior to what you can get as a walk-in before you pay for service. When you price in the depreciation, the warranty is a big factor that seems to draw big money up front. Enjoying my used SX230. Hoping it lasts a long time!!!! I'm sorry to hear of the poor experiences of those dealing with Customer service. Best of luck!

The POS hijack is getting old. Wish an op could delete replies. Why does every car/boat/bike/gun(except p&s) discussion on the internet have to turn into a show off post? LMAO

I don't think anyone is trying to show off. I think they're are just posting tongue and cheek. Relax dude it'll be alright.

All boats will have issues. It's how a manufacturer backs their product that speaks louder volume than the point of sale or any amount of features on a boat. I love my boat but there are QC issues Yamaha needs to address. It's troubling to hear time after time of people having rude and crap service from Yamaha reps. We can only hope one day they'll listen instead of pissing in their customers corn flakes.

All tiger boy does is complain how bad the Yamaha's are, yet he continues to lurk on this board even though he sold his POS. Get a life dude.

Pure time killing when bored. Don’t get your panties in a bunch and sob alone.

No problem with different opinions, but a lot of us spent our hard earned money buying our Yamaha. We take pride in them. We don't come to these boards to hear other members call them POS. I doubt you would go to a Ford board and call their trucks POS. You may not last long. Just "my" opinion. Maybe I'm in the minority.

Ah, so everyone must be a lemming and follow the same opinion. Sorry mine make you cry and hurt feelings.

Yes, we must silence all opinions we do not like to hear. Let’s all close our ears and run away screaming “I can’t hear you, I can’t hear you”

LOL
Tommy

I was born and raised on Yamaha's. Snowmobiles , dirt bikes , road bikes , and ATV's . Loved all of them !
My favs were probably the YZ125, R1, R6, RZ350, Banshee, Viper and Attack.
Only one ATV gave me any trouble, a YFZ450 it didn't like the non ethanol gas whatsoever.
In my experience. It's all in the DEALER CUSTOMER SERVICE and what they can get approved with Yamaha Warranty.
Yamaha makes great toys, they just need to do a better job of keeping loyal customers LOYAL.

I’m speaking strictly about their fiberglass rafts, nothing more.

Love my Yamaha 300 outboard. Sets the standard for marine engines.

????? Huh????

@davel501 I certainly hope you will stick around and continue to contribute.

I have enjoyed your tremendously informative posts such as those on boat electronics and charging system, super helpful! (actually both here and on the old board but that appears to be pretty much dead now).

Dude seems to be trolling for attention and controversy.... don't feed the troll...

Back to the original issue.... I find it hard to understand why Yamaha doesn't think your tower was defective in allowing water to get into it. Have they explained why they think that is ok? (your boat shouldn't get wet?)

Did you drill your tower at all? Might that be their concern?

They will not discuss it. At all. The fix they added in later years was to add 1/8" drain holes by the welds.

So they admit to a problem by adding drains to later years but wont fess up and repair older towers, wow

Just like the oil coolers and the timing chains.

Meanwhile, GM still fixes design issues on my '05 Chevy...probably more to get me in the showroom, but fix their mistakes they do.
