This was the second mod on our boat. We did it slightly different, but achieve the same thing. We use this:
It makes for a quick job and is very simple to use. We mounted it in the exact place you mounted the cleat. Here is a pic of the rope exiting the anchor locker. I don't have any pics of the zigzag cleat itself.
