How could an axis cost that much?

Easy, it has $20k in legit hard options.
If you value those options, $68 is a great Deal.
If you do not... It's just an ok Price.

Why would it not? That's not a lot more than a Limited S Yamaha, but it comes with quite a bit more content.

Or did you mean the $94K? If so, yeah, that's a lot of money. However, it just goes to show that MSRP isn't particularly meaningful on most boats besides Yamahas. It's actually a pretty clever strategy Yamaha uses - show an MSRP that is a lot less than the competition but then hold quite firm on actual sales price vs. show a way higher MSRP and then come down 15% - 20%.

This is what I meant. Tx

Most members probably already know about this site, but if not, http://www.seedealercost.com/boats has a pretty nice interface for seeing MSRP vs. invoice cost for base boats plus allows you to add all the options. Good tool before you go to the negotiating table.

I don't know about how accurate that website is. I paid less then dealer cost for a Yamaha outboard engine. It was brand new, in box, 2014 model.
