The latching/switching mechanism on my MFI trailer winch broke this weekend. I found a Rachet repair kit on Amazon, but its listed by manufacturer (fulton, dutton-lainson) and doesn't share the configuration.
I'm an hour away from my trailer to look up manufactures name on the winch...

Anyone familiar with this part being replaceable on this trailer, or am i looking at a new winch?
If new what kind of a weight rating do we fall under?

other possible names for this part: klaxton pin, kanuchi rod or Fiddlin rod, PITA assembly......I had just changed out the muffler bearings and now this !!

I don't recall any part of the stock assembly (if it's a Fulton), except the strap, being replaceable. Time and money wise you may be better off just replacing the entire winch. I love the Fulton f2 line but a basic winch from harbor freight for under $40 should do the job just as well as the stock unit. Also check out etrailer.com if it is easier for you to order online v. Go in person.

mine died the same death as yours a year or so ago. replaced it with the Fulton and is sooo much better than stock. No sense trying to fix the basic stock one either. Not worth the effort or the money.

I did the same and just upgraded. I went to a Fulton two speed T2605 and love it this thing is pretty heavy duty and a cinch to pull the boat up with I love the true neutral feature.
