What are your favorite Smart Phone applications? Here are a few of mine:

Navigation/Travel: WAZE, this application marries navigation and interactive social media to make the most awesome driving application yet! You see a speed trap...you mark it....anyone else on WAZE comes along, and they get warned. If the cop has moved, you can say "not there". You can also email your drive to someone (like your wife) and she can track you on a PC etc, so she knows when to have dinner on. It also has realtime traffic etc!

Mindless endless puzzle game: Candy Crush...my wife played this forever, so I tried it, and am now hooked.

Gas Buddy: get gas prices

Candy crush x2

Clash of clans - addictive build empire / bond with your 9 year old son.

Deer hunter 2014 - my 5 year old nephew introduced me to this one...

Recovered addict: where's my water, cut the rope.

For weather, My Radar is pretty good.

The NCAA app is great if you can piggyback using your cable/sat provider. You can stream the live feed straight to your device.

RadarNow-Weather/storms
Pandora- Music
Tapatalk-Forums
Ecobee-WiFi thermostat
UrbanSpoon-Food

Pandora
Kindle
Stitcher
Starbucks
Buzz Feed
Candy Crush

Can't remember how I used to live without the damn smartphone!!

Good thread Julian! Where to start...I'll start with the aviation related for the other aviators among us.

Spin-a-wind...is a crosswind and conversion tool. It will do density altitude problems as well.

AeroWeather...it is a terminal and forecast weather tool, and...it converts metars, tafs, and more to plain English!

RadarUS...well, it is radar. But it gives a multitude of base reflectivities, allowing you to see all levels of storm development, infrared, and more. It is a serious radar tool.

WSI...of course! But it is a little expensive and pretty much a corporate and airline pilot weather tool.

As for other apps.

Waze is great although I don't use social media...except for Jetboaters.net!!! But google maps is
Back on iPhone, and they are using a form of waze on the iPhone in beta. It is great!

Gas Log...for tracking your gas mileage.

KeepSafe...a file system to keep photos locked up!

Good Reader...for saving files as PDF s. But looking forward to using My365 when we get it...thanks to @OperationROL !

A few more but they probably aren't noteworthy. Good thread Julian!

Waze, radar now, gas buddy, Facebook and I'm a former Candy Crush addict after doing my own version of a 12 step program. ..lol

The chive: for entertainment
Amazon: for shopping.
Myradar: quick radar app for weather wrong me
Sonos: for home music
Pandora: more music

Pandora
iHeartRadio-live radio over the Internet
Shazam

The weather channel app
Windfinder-gives the wind direction and speed for an area that you choose to put in.

I like racing games so my two favorites are:
Asphalt 8
Need for Speed: Most Wanted

Gas buddy
Google maps
Tip calculator
Flixster-is an app for movies that you get when you redeem a digital copy from a Blueray disk.
@Julian ,you would need this app like I do for your Galaxy Note 3.

DealNews, Woot, Google, ICREALTIME , Total Connect, Surveillance Pro for Foscam, Crestron.

I like good deals and have a ton of properties with cameras to view remotely.

Navionics.. Complete waterways charts, with marinas, water depths, channels, etc..

@Julian Surveillance Pro is optimized for use with Foscam cameras, which are great cameras for easy install and function ability. There are many generic ip cam apps out there but I haven't had the opportunity to use them because all of my camera apps are proprietary to match the DVR or camera(s).

Last year I hooked up our Pool to the internet via Pentairs app. That way I can fire up the Spa from anywhere so it's ready when we get home.

I also put our home thermostat on wi-fi so we can monitor how hot it is inside the house when were away from home. That way we could cool it down for the dogs stuck at home. image.jpg image.jpg

I have an iPhone. The APP that I like the best is "Find My Friends". One day it might even work for me!

Not neccessarily an app, but I couldn't live without my agenda on my android phone. It keeps everything from doctors appointments, all of the kids' sports games and practices, meetings, etc. etc. right there for me to easily see. Working 2 jobs and having 3 kids going 17 different directions I'm not sure how I would keep everything straight without it.

My favorite apps are Blogger (I use their free websites for a ton of stuff), Amazon, Euchre, Iridim Flare Forecast (tells me when and where to look for the space station crossing at night), KeepSafe, Recr8OhioRiver (tells all about current river conditions near Cincinnati, OH), the CHIVE (if you haven't got this, GET IT!), Navionics, Virginia Tech Tree ID and Words with Friends.

Edit to include Google Sky, it is awesome!
