What do you tow your 190 with?

bit sluggish... even with manual, 4.10 gears.... need 4.88's

My wife has a 2013 MOAB automatic and it tows pretty darn good. I have a 15' AR192.

Running on a 3.21 Axle Ratio. Pulls fine on level roads, but struggles a bit on highway ramps. Had it up to +70 on the highway yesterday, no issues. Thinking about a F150 5.0 XLT. In the meantime, the Wrangler will do.

EcoBoost 2.7 or 3.5? Both have awesome towing capacity. We decide on the 5.0 V8...only because the deal we got was thousands less the 3.5EB.

3.5....it tows better than my 5.7 Tundra but am disappointed in the 10.5mpg when towing. We wanted the Ecoboost over the V8 because I wasn't a fan of the 5.4 I had in my previous 150.....had to chip it before it started to act like a V8

It is funny the 3.5eb has higher towing capabilities than the 5.0. But either way more than enough power for a 190 Yamaha. We had an Expedition with the Triton previously and the Wrangled struggles a bit. Needed the upgrade for longer trips, plus this truck has a transmission cooler.

Yeah there is plenty of power on both engines for towing the 190....I think of it as training for towing the future 242 :)

I'm wondering if sometimes you folks underestimate your tow vehicles. I've pulled mine with my 97' Chevy S10 countless times and she pulled just fine. 80mph and still getting 18-20 mpg with the 4.3 V6. And Stops on a dime.

I towed our 190 from NJ to GA with a 14' EB F150. We got 14MPG. When it came to shopping for trucks we looked at everything and then bought a Ram. We towed with our Ram 1500 V6 and get up to 19! Couldnt be happier with it so far.

My first thought was that is pretty low mileage (I get 11.5-12 with my MDX). Then I noticed where you live, so I guessing there are a lot of slopes between you and the water.

You're correct....I've got lots of hills and mountains between where I go. That being said, one spot we go to is pretty much level (except one small pass) and the most I could get out of it was just over 12mpg.

Ive towed my AR192 with my 13' Wrangler. It tows pretty darn good. We took through hills and everything. It did pretty good.

2015 Grand Cherokee Overland V6
Tows the boat like a champ. The back up camera is a dream, making hook ups nice and quick. The air ride suspension keeps the rig very stable and automatically levels the rear when it's under load.

New member with '12 AR. For short trips to water have used '07 JKU automatic, stock gears, no problems. Also do long ride from CT to ME every August. Have used past Summer's an '03 Chevy TB, '08 GMC Acadia, this summer used a '15 F250 diesel. The F250 has a slight towing advantage over the other rigs, LOL!

Thanks to my wife I can tell you that a Honda Odyssey pulls a 190 really well. However I cannot be happier using a F150 now.

After an unfortunate mistake it was time to replace my old tow pig. I picked up an 09' Rubicon Unlimited. Seems to pull it ok but I've only done it twice. image.jpgimage.jpeg
