What is the "real" top speed for a 190 FSH Sport? Apples to apples...

They call the 1.8l in the FSH a High output. Not sure if that really means anything?? Just glad we don't offer a non HO or 36v trolling motor maybe needed to get on plane

AR is twin engine.

Supercharged motors are SVHO. Only the 192/195 boats got (single) supercharged engines.

The 190ar is a single 1.8h.o. is lighter than the fsh also..

Heh. I don't know why I just assumed he was talking about a 21/24' AR. 19 would have the same engine as the FSH. I'm kinda surprised really that the ar190 is lighter/faster.

What does it take to install the super charger from the SVHO on the 190 FSH? I have a FX Cruiser SVHO and it's wicked fast, my 190FSH is also fast enough for me. With 2 guys on board and a half tank of gas, I'm up around 47 mph. I have not modified anything or added any weight to the boat yet so I'll enjoy the speed while i have it

If your FSH can run at 47 i'd say you already have the SVHO edition. Never seen or heard of one even come close to that. The only time mine sees speeds over 40 it's on the trailer.

I've seen 46 once just me and half A tank. The norm is 44

Today with a tail wind, 1/4 tank and just me I saw 46-47 but have heard that if you do a true GPS speed reading it is slower.
But like @Tailwaters I have seen 40-42 as a more typical speed at full.

Guys, whatever you do, don't look at GPS speed or you will be disappointed!
Do not upgrade to a GPS or you will slowdown your boat by 5-8 miles!!!

It is interesting to see the differences in the various boats - seeing in the 44 range on GPS makes me a little jealous. Before I started adding weight, I was getting in the 41 range with just me in the boat - 260 lbs. Adding in wife, two trolling motor batteries, 36v trolling motor hanging off front and all the other gear puts us in the 38 to 39 range. Rough water into the wind with boys, live well full and we are looking at 35 range. I did move my trolling motor batteries back under the port rear seat and picked up a mile or two versus having them up front. Any extra weight up front makes a big difference.

Still, we love the boat and use it all the time. Great for quick fishing runs, short outings, sunsets, etc. Was really looking forward to the 21 but it seems to be a miss for us.

I went out again this weekend and made a point to watch the speed. Going out in the morning i had 4 men and 2 coolers, 1 person sitting on the console seat and three across the back, WOT was 42/43. Conditions were 55 degrees and the water was flat with a cross wind. While moving spots, I had two of the guys sitting on the front deck facing backward and 1 beside me in the back opposite the batteries with pretty calm water and couldn't get over 34 mph. Weight up forward makes a big difference and keep in mind that my boat is the same way it came from Yamaha, I've done nothing to it.

Now that's closer to reality Rich. I never had the chance to run mine "naked" to see what the real top speed was all stripped down. I took delivery all loaded up with heavy batteries and trolling motors like WTScott mentioned. That's a lot of weight up front causing it to plow instead of plane. I'm not even sure I'd want an SVHO if was any louder and burned more gas as both of those are already the worst qualities of the FSH.

I'm glad I did this little experiment before loading mine up with trolling motor and batteries. I think I'll try to put them under the right hand jump seat to counter balance the existing batteries and keep the weight aft.

last weekend on calm water, 4 adults, 2 coolers, full of fuel, 6 fishing rods, trolling motor with batteries, we hit a max of 33mph per GPS. running at 7KRPM averaged 28-29MPH

Yes any time you put people or weight up front, doesn't even have to be a lot, you will see the speeds drop 3-4 MPH. This is because more of the bow is in the water thus more surface area and drag. It's the same lower hull as my AR 192 and I did that test by moving my wife and daughter from the bow to the rear.

40 mph in any 18.5 foot boat is a handfull with anything above 2 foot waves . I cant find another boat on the market with the hole shot, good looks room for 5 all my gear beer and ice and all in a package that can be towed and stored in a two car garage for under 30 grand I cant be happier with my sx190.
