Winch

I need to replace the winch on my trailer for sx190. Can anybody recommend a good one? Also, the boat is about 2,000 lbs, so I assume I need one rated for well over 2,000 lbs?? Thanks in advance for the help.

It's beefy and 2 speed... Very impressive, but more expensive than the normal 1 speed..if you look hard you can find the simple cheap ones for $30+ But in this case for my 230 I was quite happy paying a bit more for this. I prefer to rope in the boat instead of driving it up, so I always end up winching a bit. This winch makes is much easier to do so...and those last 2 feet when you are tired and it gets heavy, you can set it to low gear and it makes it that much easier to pull.

EDIT: Per your question...I think the rating is for dead weight, we never hold the full load from the air..I think you only need a small fraction of the boat weight for the rating when using it as a boat winch. Check the rating on the current one to be sure.

The Fulton winches are really nice. We got an F2 with our boat purchase and had no idea that it was 2 speed until I read the manual. Then I was really liking it. The power was awesome.
