Looking for a bit of insight from the gang for my winter storage plans this year. Have a 2017 AR195 that I've owned since new and live in central WI. I have always managed to find a place to store the boat inside over the winter. Even though it has been stored inside, I still went through all the normal winterization steps, removed everything from the inside, and stored it with the shipping cover. Unfortunately, I have lost access to my inside storage spot and have been unable to secure a new one. So that means this will be the first winter where I have to store the boat outside, in the snow and elements.

For those of you that have done this, any insight or suggestions? I do have access to getting it shrink wrapped if that helps.

I'm in NY so probably not as cold as your climate during the winter, but still enough snow and below freezing temps. I usually go with good cleaning, your normal winterization steps, removing anything you don;t want to be inside the boat, etc.

First year I had my SX195 I used the shipping cover. It worked fine but now after a few seasons its showing a little wear. Last year I had the boat shrink wrapped after I did the winterization. Opened in spring and look fantastic, so no complaints going that way. Also if you're able to get your hands on a basic carport or tent to put it in all the better.

If I were to store outside I would have it wrapped or put the cover on and then a regular tarp over the top of that to shed the snow

Assuming my pole barn gets built this fall, I know a 12x24 storage unit with a 11’ door that would be available in Weyauwega. I could keep you posted, it has been $80 a month since 2015, but I wouldn’t be surprised if the price went up with a new tenant.
