yeah there has to be a back story to this. Only 3 possible reasons I can come up with are
1. They ran into patent/legal issues after they started production
2. They vastly underestimated what the demand would be for these (but you wouldn’t think it’d be hard to ramp up production in rthe light of success).
3. They didn’t have enough confidence in the product and this was meant to be a beta release.
