Very cool location!!! Are you hoping that if you make the stereo loud enough that if you drift away again people will be able to hear where you are???? LOL

Sounds great...with them pointing straight back you get great output towards the back of the boat which is great since your getting max output in the front as well.
I might very well follow suite as it solves my issue of adding more sound in the bow, and a by product of projected sound towards the rear which means the people in the cabin should benefit as well.
The original plan was to mount them in the head rest In the front seats that face forward. But looking at how much it would cost just to push sound out the front started looking around and figured thats a good as sopt as any. I have not seen anyone else do it so i figured it was a "hold my bourbon and watch this" kind of moment.
I have 6.5s on the rear as well, and have JL 880 towers and when those are pointed to the rear I don't see how those 7.7s will be much louder then 6.5s unless you give them more than the 60-80 watts these JL amps put out...that's my .02 as I've also considered putting 7.7s back there so maybe I shut up and just swap my 6.5s for 7.7s on the rear and move the 6.5s to the bow like the big boys.
If you have towers it might be a marginal increase.... no towers and it's totally worth it.
