2012 SX 190 died on the water.

I will, thanks for the I do

Thanks for the info

Did you find the issue?

Nope not yet. All mechanics are backed up by 2 weeks

If it was the timing chain wouldn't one of the spark plugs have a bent tip or be smashed up? I recommend pulling all spark plugs and checking that they aren't bent.

Then spark, fuel, air as was mentioned above.

Post your location and maybe someone local can give you a hand.

Located in Jenison, MI and I will. I pulled one and it was fine. My uncle came over the other night and said I was getting spark.

When I had a car that popped a timing belt the engine spun over really fast and did not quite sound right.

The engine sounds normal when turning over. Someone said the fuel filter but I can’t find a mechanic that can get me in.

Found the problem. It was a loose wire running from the electrical box to the engine. It’s the white little piece in the middle of the picture.

Excellent glad you located the issue, just for future reference if a timing chain goes the engine sounds like a high pitched BLENDER when you turn the starter and the fuel in the exhaust can make it backfire

some could

That’s a rectifier?
I wonder how did that happen?

They didn’t know either. But that’s what it was. Ran around the lake tonight with no problem.

This is fantastic news!

Wow, what an introduction you have had to jet boating!

How in the world would a piston hit a spark plug because of a broken timing chain?! lol I got to hear this..
Are you serious?
Those are interference engines... valves shatter causing carnage.

Yeah I know carnage will bend a spark plug....a broken timing chain alone won’t damaged a plug- which is how I read the question.
