2015 Tahoe Price

Yeah. I'm starting to see more and more here in North Texas. For a while there was just a few of us on the road in McKinney and the other day I came up to a four way stop and there was one at each stop sign. Ha!

Glad it is working out. Super sharp vehicle. In spite of the price, they are selling like mad. From a recent Motor Trend article:

"General Motors can count its redesign of the 2015 Cadillac Escalade, GMC Yukon, and Chevrolet Tahoe as a roaring success so far. The new Escalade made the biggest jump, with 2467 vehicles sold for an increase of 123.3 percent. The longer Escalade ESV also improved its sales 107.4 percent to 1427 vehicles sold. Year-to-date sales for the standard Escalade are up 34.7 percent. The GMC Yukon is now up 52.7 percent in year-to-date sales, in part thanks to its July sales of 4139 units (a 48.4 percent increase). The longer Yukon XL was also up for July, growing its sales 27.2 percent to 3999 units sold. The Chevrolet Tahoe led the way with 10,783 units sold, increasing its sales 51.5 percent for July. Through July the Tahoe has sold 56,621 units, pushing it ahead 18 percent compared to last year. The only model to lose ground was the Chevrolet Suburban, which fell 16.4 percent but remains ahead 3.2 percent for the year."

Sad these people don't remember the 10 billion dollars the taxpayers lost to keep GM and their unreasonable union labor in business.

Sorry, I'm still a little bitter about my shares of GM common stock that were cancelled during their bailout.

A buddy of mine just picked up a Denali XL earlier this summer and they love it. His wife and his two small kids were in a head-on accident a year ago in their 2012 Denali XL and they all lived. Kids were in the second and third row and didn't have a scratch and the wife had a broken wrist and a compound fracture in a leg and broke a knee. They didn't roll. The other vehicle was a Tahoe and they rolled, but both occupants lived. The estimated speed at the point of impact 140 mph. It's remarkable nobody was killed. They are well built and safe vehicles. We'll probably be ready to buy one in a couple of years.

Good grief! POI at 140mph! They are lucky to be alive.

Very happy with it! It tows the boat great! The longest trip I towed it was from Dallas to Central Texas last summer and I was surprised how well it towed. I upgraded and got the air leveling package and built in brake control system. I highly recommend that.

I just got a price of $52000 for a top line LT. Has towing, power everything, navigation, heated seats, lane assist, pretty much everything but a sunroof and 4x4

Just wondering @BigN8 , why are you getting rid of your F150? You have a need or want for a SUV?

I got a new Ford Taurus for company vehicle. I bought my F 150 for my old job when I was getting a vehicle allowance. wife gets the new tow vehicle in the form of a Tahoe

Ah, makes sense now. Happy wife, happy life! Good luck with your search.

Common physics mistake. The point of impact force doesn't add the 2 vehicle speeds together. If they were both going 70 then it's the equivalent of hitting something solid at 70 (assuming the weight of each vehicle is the same) and it would only be the max assuming they hit dead on evenly. Which is almost never the case. Think about it like this, each vehicle is the other vehicles "brick wall".

Just thought I'd throw that out there since it's a common mistake.

I think I'm going to take a hard look at the Expeditions. The Tahoes are in short supply and they know it = do deals. I saw a Expedition King Ranch edition that was the same price as the LT 1 and had a lot more goodies. Seems like the towing is a little less with the expedition.

Any body tow with an expedition?

I towed for several years with a 2004 Ford Expedition. No issues. Make sure, as with all vehicles, to use the tow/haul button. My Expedition had the 5.4l V8.

@BigN8 I have one of the new 2015 Expeditions. It is an EL Limited 2WD (I'm in NC so no snow to worry about) Love it. Great on the road with several road trips. Towing trips have been 20 miles or so and tows great. Getting ready to haul the boat to Lauderdale here on Saturday for Bimini.

Highway mileage has been close to 20 mpg, and averaging about 18.5 mixed mileage so far. Pretty damn good for that beast. I expect towing mileage to be around 10 (and will reset for the trip) but who buys a car for good towing mpg's ??? !!!

My dad towed with a Navigator EL, same basic vehicle and it towed fine. I imagine the Ecoboost makes it even better. Love the Eco in my truck.

@BigN8
Curious why you are getting rid of your truck?

What does EL stand for?

Extended Length I guess, its the long version.

They give the short ones pills at the factory and it makes them bigger :)

I agree on the "short supply" comment. I didn't pay off sticker unfortunately. There was two in Texas at the time that had everything I wanted on mine (we go to Colorado a lot so needed the 4x4). There was not much wiggle room. Best wishes with your search!

I've always been a fan of Tahoes. Awesome looking vehicles inside and out. I've also owned many ford SUVs including my favorite an expedition. Now I have my Tacoma which I bought new in 07 and have put 150k miles on it. I haven't had to do one repair (knock on wood). This thing has been amazing quality wise. I find Toyota a bit blah in styling, but no other vehicle has come even close to its reliability. I buy a vehicle to last and to get me from point A to B. Toyota will keep my business.
