ArmyChief is in the hospital awaiting a double bypass

Get well soon!

Hoping for an eventless recovery. We will make a toast in your name at Honeymoon Harbor in June.
Get well my friend.

Get well soon. A reminder to all of us that if you don't have your health you don't have anything.

Update: Surgeon wants MORE video of my heart. So, I'm back to cardiologist to get another catheter dye test to see where blockages are. Bad thing is the waiting now. I'm about fully recovered from first operation (stent), now its the waiting for a second operation and having to recover all over again.

BTW, if you are over 40..go get a catheter heart test!!. I had the usual testing done last year (blood, nuclear stress-test and Cat Scan). All "looked" normal. Best test to have done is catheter test!!!

Glad to hear things are going well. Tom Petty told us long ago about the waiting thing... So are you going to post video of your heart? :winkingthumbsup"

Best wishes and prayers to you my random internet friend, be well.

Thanks for the update and advice on the heart testing @ArmyChief. Hopefully you'll be able to rehab on the lake when the second surgery is complete. ;)

My brother who is 53 has had 2 heart attacks. He has had 8 stents put in total. They won't do a bypass until he is older, because the body can only take about 2 bypass surgeries. I second your advice. I'm 43, 10 years younger than my brother, but I have scheduled to go see my brothers cardiologist in April. I'm going to request the dye test. Basically because of what you said, the stress test, calcium scan, and other tests did not pick up my brothers problems either.

Good luck Doug .....we will send good thoughts ur way. I myself have had valve repair surgery...and none of it is fun! Be well!!

I have not been on in a long time...All my best @ArmyChief

Be well, wishing you great health care and a speedy recovery my friend!

praying for him & his family

Well @Bruce is correct....I was thinking of a dual battery setup...but then figured I'll get a bigger maints-free battery. i keep the mini jump box on board and have never run the battery down..so..might be overkill :). I will be posting my SOLAR setup soon :)

O.k....as far as an update. All I can say is the surgeon over in Orange Park must have needed a new boat...or tires for his viper :)
I had the anti-dye test done again over here at Sarasota Memorial and i have ZERO blockages. So, no more surgery...just some cardio rehab...back to work in 4-6 weeks.

Thanks everyone.

You made my day @ArmyChief! I'm so glad to hear of the revised outlook.

Hey Doug ...I'm glad everything worked out for you. Next time your at Blanding call me....wings are on me!

That's great news @ArmyChief Glad to see that you're headed in the right direction.

Your talking about heart issues and battery systems got me thinking. We should design A dual purpose defibrillator / battery jump pack and patent it. Maybe work in your solar charging system too. Kind of like a Swiss Army knife of boating tools. ;)

Anyway, hopefully you can work in a lot of boating related activities into your physical therapy.
