House Battery?

If you turn only house on and press "sys/cntrl" for about 3 sec your connex system wont turn on?
Thinking about it... I don't think I've held the button that long. I'll try tonight.

Coheeba...3 seconds did the trick. I guess I was use to the immediate response when pressing a float mode button on the water (both battery switches on)

Thanks for the info.

I'm back in the game!

I did the same until I read about it on here. By the way on my boat I can switch start battery off and leave house on and it works.

mine keeps giving me low battery beeps till i turn start battery on
Leave the start battery off but turn on the parallel switch and clear your alarm. Caution, your engines will start with the switches in this position but you wont get the low batt alarm.

thank you for the input but i think thats a terrible advice. that kills the start battery.
i figured it out already thought.
key off
start battery off
connext will go off and you can play music from the rear deck.
house battery only no alarm all is good

House battery on.
Start battery off.
Parallel on.
No problem, your start battery is isolated.

Then what's the point of having the parallel on if it's not drawing from the start battery? My connext works with just the house battery on, all other switches off.

What do you use for a float mode button when doing this?

Start battery is not isolated with parallel on. That’s literally the job for that switch.
You only use parallel in emergencies to start your engines. Basically combing all battery banks to give you an extra boost. Besides that you don't need it. Parallel should never be used if your banks are set up correctly. Your start battery should never drain if you don't connect your electronics to it as when you are running around it's being charged by the stators. Hence hook everything on the house batteries except for the engines.

Your right....i forgot i swapped the wires on my switches to prevent just this problem....

So now my engines goto the "A" terminal and the battery and DSVR goto the "B" terminal....in addition my Connext voltage sense wire is now connected to the "A" terminal.20180821_112452.jpg
