I WANT THIS!!! <copter>

Isn't it interesting that they used to be called RC Helicopters or RC Planes, and now that video camera can be mounted more easily on them, they've all of a sudden becomes "DRONES". Oh well.

The National Parks have banned them...supposedly until they come up with a policy for handling them. Would be nice if they could come up with a permit system....some of the National Preserves permit hunting...bet that scares the wildlife! LOL

I read somewhere that technically they are not drones unless they can fly (as well as take off and land) on their own. Per the AMA the FCC just banned the use of vr goggles while flying these rc copters/drones. This doesn't impact me since my telemetry comes over a smart phone or tablet but I was planning on buying and installing such a system on my son's quadcopter for experimentation purposes. Hopefully, the price will go down from $300 as a result. One thing to keep in mind is that the FCC only has a handful of enforcement agents around the country so getting the shaft from them directly is unlikely. However, I'm sure all national park rangers have been advised of the ban and enabled to enforce it.
