I'm torn this year. My ski buddy (daughter) is too busy and not interested in going this year. I've never done a solo trip, but seriously considering shooting over to Copper Mtn after one of my business trips to Amarillo. Maybe ski 2 -3 days and come back. I've always wanted to try Copper Mtn.
me either but better safe than sorry. We have been driving to co for over 20 years. Wc is a awesome place. If red ever gets his go ahead for the condos that place will blow up. The locals dont want it all, but could you imagine all the Texas people buying g places there.
That is awesome, I'll need to do that! probably not a good idea, been a while since I was doing terrain above Imperial in Breck and even then it was a challenge, lol.Depending on your ski level. If your feeling froggy find a local and ask them to take you on Knife ridge. It will change your life, that could be good and bad. That short expert run gets you into chest deep POW.
Not my video
Glad you mentioned that, I finally had a look a those and figured out how to install, should I need them, not very complicated but better to figure it now than figuring it out in a snow bank with a flashlight, lol.me either but better safe than sorry. what peak you on ? I'm assuming 8 or 9 We may be there that weekend as well. We go every 2 weeks
Nice ! That place is ultra nice. We usually stay in town since they put the gondola in. Of course you can ride it down to town. If 4 o'clock is open you can ski into town and ride the gondola up. Or ride the gondola up to the base.Crystal Peak Lodge, 50 feet from the independence super chair…. cant wait
How long did you guys stay in "The Lobster Pot"????We got here, Pagosa Springs, CO! Man, that was a long haul, about 1,100 miles, the fam loved some good soaking after that!
The place is kind of unreal.

The amount of snow at Wolf Creek is ridiculous as we were passing the place - taking the passage from the South Fork side, and it is still snowing!
We hit the ski rentals in town tonight for an early start on the slopes tomorrow! and - and we went soaking. The resort where we are staying has some 23 hot spring pools and my kids are on a quest to hit them all, lol.

Nice, we almost got stuck in Breck with their 30 inches... They completely shut down Route 70 for avalanche risk.Just returned from a week in Winter Park, CO so thought I would post up some "snowpocalypse" pictures from the dumping CO got on Friday (2/7). Great trip overall, super fun mountain (esp. during the week!), had 2 really cold days so that cut into some ski-time but we made the most of it.
Thurs. they had 7" which made for a great day. Then on Fri I woke up to the snow stake looking like this:

And checked it again after got home and before it was cleared for the day:

Doesn't do it justice, but a picture from a run on Vasquez Ridge (Aces and Eights)... Believe it or not those are moguls buried in the powder:
