Larger oil filter?

I don't even have my boat yet, but I HAVE used the K&N HP-1002 for several vehicles now. 1" nut for removal makes it super easy, and of all my own personal filter changes, none have had any disintegration or corrosion issues. I've got 2 sitting in my garage right now, mebbe the issues are with certain runs of these, but I don't know how to tell what production line or date mine are. Willing to post up some pics of the box/filter tomorrow, if anyone has an idea where I should check.

As stated above, I used the K&N Filters on my MR1s. They worked great! There was a recall on them about a year or so ago as some of the filters were failing.

Since I upgraded to the 1.8s in the 2017, I've been using the Yamaha Oil Change Kits. They are $47 per engine on Amazon and that includes oil and filter. That price is hard to beat and it's convenient.

Before I bought my boat they used the kits, and I'll continue to use the kits at ~$30 each and will replace/change the oil every season.
