And here come all the non-answers. Lol.

Just answer the question.

You're asking a shit question, and acting accordingly. I'll answer: the people who may mean to do me harm will have at least a semi-automatic firearm. And they won't give two fucks about the 10 round magazine limit here, so I'm not about to engage them with a single action revolver or a bolt action rifle. Any other burning questions?

Thank you for the actual response.

Have you, or anyone you know, actually encountered someone "who may mean to do you harm and is actually carrying at least a semi-automatic firearm?"

If so, it appears you were able to (in contrast to every study out there that says otherwise) fight them off via your superior firepower. Good on you.

Waiting anxiously. You've now responded to a simple question twice, without answering.
You want to argue and pick a fight, I wish to have an open conversation with you... I am not scared of your hidden behind a keyboard antics. I asked you a very simple question and gave you four images to choose from. A multiple answer test per say. You have refused to answer. I assure as I just challenged an administrator I have zero concern about hurting feelings with truth

Its not superior firepower, its equivalent firepower. I do, personally, know someone who has been subject to firearm violence - and yeah, it was with a semi-automatic weapon. I'm still not quite sure that you understand what that term means.

PS, you and I both know that you're making this up as you go. Otherwise, I'd be happy to read the plethora of studies that would conclude that there is no defensive merit to owning a firearm. I'd wager a guess that you're going to tell me that I'm more likely to die of suicide with one, than I am to defend myself with one. Guess what? The same is true of my kitchen knives, box cutter, and any of my half a dozen carbon monoxide emitting motors.

I too have been face to face with multiple self feeding, based upon blow back energy controlled firearms, and been able to protect myself and others with matching force.

Its scary shit. I have had a semi-automatic firearm pointed at me before. Luckily I was in a vehicle so could extricate myself from the situation. Run. Hide. Fight. - in that order. If it gets to that last one, I'm not giving an inch.

In civilian life? Please, do tell.

As have I. NOT pulling equivalent force prevented escalation.

The question was not directed toward you

Fine. I answer yours, now answer mine.

- Do you know what a semi automatic weapon is?
- Why do you consider it a 'superior firepower' to all threats a civilian is likely to face?
- Where are those studies that show they are useless to defend life?

I'm well aware that my possession of a firearm does not ensure my safety. In any given moment, if someone broke into my home while I'm sitting on the couch watching TV, nine times out of ten they could execute me before I could get to mine. Does that mean I shouldn't have one?

From your dictionary: able to fire repeatedly through an automatic reloading process but requiring release and another pressure of the trigger for each successive shot

So, weapon is loaded with as much ammo as it will take, and will fire every time the trigger is pulled. That's how I read it

You ask, why would someone want it? And I struggle to answer the opposite, if you wanted a weapon, why would you NOT want it? It's a tool to fire, and it will fire with just a trigger pull.

I hope that explains it, I don't think there's much more to it. It's fast and effective, does it's job well. Why would you not want one if you are looking for a weapon?

Not my dictionary, but ok.

Yes, it's fast and effective, for what purpose?

Why would you not have/carry something even more effective if your intent is to not be "out-gunned?"
