Yamaha announces new engine!!!

Almost looks fake doesn’t it? Surely it isn’t going to Lake Lanier. Wouldn’t surprise me though
You in LLBG Matt? I was on 285 somewhere I'd imagine it landed at Lanier with all the other 50ft+ searays that have been brought up this winter wouldn't surprise me.

Yeah, that's where I pulled the pic from.

It landed at Lanier saw picture of it tied up at what looked like holiday over weekend. 2635hp on lake lanier!

I can tell those are 7 marine engines. I've heard that the v8s in that brand are in the neighborhood of 30k. If that's the case in this boat then that's just bonkers to be on a lake anywhere.

Those are 7 marine and they are v8.... lake Lanier has way more money on it the sense. My friend works for marina on lake and they are building a slip for a 65ft searay.

There was a 56ft delivered to another marina as well as st least 3 other 50+ft yatch since the boat show in feb.

They should probably get a kicker for that. Just in case.

53’ Regal was put on Lake Allatoona this past fall. These jokers with this type of money need to take the boats out of Georgia lakes and down to the ocean and island hop haha.

Now that's what I call a boat lift.

Lake Lanier is on my list of lakes to check out. Guess my boat classifies more as a Dingy on that lake. Any meetups that folks from here do on Lanier? I don’t recall seeing any.

Hmm, Nissan’s nearby Decherd Engine Plant makes a DIG 5.6L V8 engine block with similar output.....

Before you knock Nissan, that same engine plant builds an engine for Mercedes’s Vance, AL plant as well as engines for the Infiniti Q50 that’s assembled in Japan.

Seems like I have seen a thread over on the gatherings section. Lanier is nice. Especially since Margaritaville just opened up there with two party housboats and restaurants.

Sunset cove now dubbed landmark cove is the "party place" dock for $15 bucks for the day and enjoy the beach (they shipped in white Florida gulf sand).

Plenty of other coves throughout the lake to tie up. Right now we are almost 3ft above full so no beaches to hang on.

What other people local wanna meet up sometime?

@Mainah You should build them a push button starter to fire up all 5 with a single push. So they dont get annoyed at the beeps every time they kill the engines to pick up the dead tubers they just launched.

On our ~3500 acre lake there seems to be a competition among the pontoon crowd. They get bigger every year.

Saw a 30 footer tri-toon with twin 300 g2’s. Not sure if it’s visting or will be on the lake all year. It’s not my thing but it was pretty cool in an obnoxious look at me way.

On a 3500 acre lake that's a little overboard, but on bigger lakes or rivers it makes sense. The last boat show that we went to in Dallas there was nothing but pontoons, wake boats and fishing boats. There was a healthy showing of jet skis and a nice large display of Yamaha jet boats:). Large pontoons are THE thing to have right now. So many boat companies that used to build I/O's are making the switch to outboards and if people are looking at moving to an outboard powered boat it might as well be a pontoon. With enough horsepower and a nice stereo system they can be cool if it fits your boating lifestyle.
