Deposit For 2021 Yamaha and still waiting?

I spoke to my sales guy last week to see if there was news on the 2022 orders as far as colors and pricing is concerned. All he could say was any day, it'll be coming any day...

I heard that prices were coming down 40% on lumber in the last week on the radio? I was going to roll up to HD or Lowe's and see what is going on. LOL, my house will lose a bit of value, but I will be able to do deck and fence :)

As an aside, when the money tree dries up here in the fall as it is slated to and there is a plethora of people vying for jobs which could put downward pressure on compensation, things will start to begin to correct themselves but quick I feel.
Yes, lumber is down 40% from its recent high, but it is still 3x pre-pandemic prices.

My dealer doesn't know anything. Can't see anything. Nothing new. The Chaparral 21 SSI is done at the plant waiting on a windshield the past three weeks. Losing hope in either option. BTW, per my dealer, Chaparral is not doing a 19ft for 2022. Do we even know what Yamaha is doing for 2022?

No info from Yamaha I think till August, which is customary.

Has anyone seen evidence of boats arriving at dealers. My dealer hasn’t seen anything in weeks

I’ve lost all hope, drove by my marina this morning, they maybe had 4 boats outside of all the storage barns.

Took our boat into dealer yesterday for its 10 hr service and the owner said he’s thinking they may not see the remaining 8 boats they’re supposed to get this year. They had all their boats pre-sold too.

I was told by my dealer today that they have received all boats that they still had on order in the last few weeks but our model boat. Our boat still sits in the system with no ship date. We ordered the 212xd in October.

Just a question, if they can't get the 2021s out the door, why do we think they'll roll out the 2022s on time? Doesn't make sense to me, maybe someone else can explain it. We're still waiting on our 2021 275sd. Dealer said it's not cancelled and still expected, but no other information. Hubby and I considered waiting on a 2022 but then we might be waiting another year. Not sure why people think the 2022s will be on lots in August if they can't get the 21s out the door....makes no sense, but I also know nothing about boat orders and shipping!

Did he have any reason to think they wouldn't see the remaining boats? Our dealer said the complete opposite. The inconsistency from dealers and Yamaha has me really frustrated and perplexed!

Last one my dealer got was a AR 250 last week and a 275SD the week before that. The 275 was waiting 4 months on a windshield

I am amazed the dealer are not screaming at Yamaha. Not only are they losing sales but Yamaha is leaving a bad taste with a lot of customers

I am sure they are screaming, but what is that going to do, no boats is no boats and without actual dates and timing of parts what can they say. Perhaps they know more and are spinning it in a good way. I dunno... That sad part is that every boat that Yamaha will produce will be sold somewhere.

@AshleyPro83 I think people are told that 2022 are going to be on the lots in August for various reasons by dealers, or they subscribe to the crap and dribble they see all over Facebook which is mind boggling endless...... I am first at the Dealer on list for 2022 model I should have by end of July...... c'mon...... What are they going to do tell you, you are the 20th or 30th on the list for a boat that they have no clue of when or if it is going to show up? I think that would be awesome if they were. But I highly doubt that is realistic. Especially in any quantifiable number.

What we do know as fact is:
1) There is a parts shortage, this has effected 2021's and will definitely affect 2022's.
2) Dealers are worried. Without inventory they only have dreams to sell and take deposits on.
3) Aerial shots have shown that there were many, many boats on the Yamaha lots which where not finished and waiting on parts.
4) Hundreds or more customers have been waiting on their boats for a long, long time. Some are cancelled, others are not.
5) Every now and then some one, at least on this forum, gets the call that there boat is in transit or has come in.

Those selling dreams of 2022's in July or by August are doing just that. Unfortunately it gets families hopes up when in fact in all likely hood it was never going to happen.

My local dealer has started to reduce their days open.... They are literally living off service right now. Luckily they are back logged forever on that, but sucks for sales guys.

Don't know. But if they are living off service, don't act pissed or rude or I'm bothering them checking in on my boat every couple of weeks. I'm nice when I call, just asking if any update. Mine makes me feel like I'm bothering them playing solitaire on their computer.

Exactly, I call every date my cover is supposed to come in. It is always pushed back but I just thanks and I will check back later. No reason ever to be rude, not their fault at all. They are probably more frustrated than us. For us, it's a toy, for them they are losing their income.

I spoke to mine last week. From what he said, it appears they don't see anything until the boat is on the shipping trailer and an invoice is generated.
Said he checks for new invoices three times a day. I think in the past month they might have gotten 10 boats or 12.
Drove by my dealer last Saturday and maybe two boats. Maybe one big Yamaha and a Tige? Wild.

My dealer says they get a steady stream of 3-4 per week, and I personally saw an AR195 with shipping cover in their lot myself. Right now all of the remaining 2021 boats they expect have been invoiced and have ship dates except 212's and 195S's (mine is one of three missing). However, they were told by their Yamaha rep that ALL boats will ship by 2nd week of July. As a side note, it is interesting that they tell me that ALL manufacturers of fiberglass boats are the same to much worse right now.

That will be great if it happens. I’m waiting on a 195s.
Yamaha has really destroyed my optimism
