Help stuck on water

[USERGROUP=9]@HELP[/USERGROUP] needs to be specified in the body, not the subject for the alerts to work, I believe.
Oh my bad... now I see that it is in the first post. I didn’t notice that when I started reading the thread.

I wonder if it was added as an edit? I always wondered if alerts will get triggered as an edit instead of the initial post.

I just got a notification you were quoting me. Not because of the @ Help. If that is what you were trying to do. It may have been edited in after OP. But yours did not notify me either.

Hmm, double check your settings in Preferences? Maybe you’re too helpful and got removed from the Help group (because you make the rest of us look bad)? Lol!

I’ve never actually been in that group, so have never received those alerts. I’ll join now.

Too funny...Joined a while ago and still joined.

To the OP, if that bolt (#17) is loose, the motor may not be sitting correctly and binding up. Try tightening? Maybe that’ll keep the bearings square and allow it to spin?

I tightened the bolt up, it was completely out. We will see if any more issues arise. I plan to order a new starter anyway. I will saw it looks like a PITA to do considering it’s only one bold holding it in its place.

here’s a picture with the flashlight and mirror I used. Not really room for a hand after that.

It's possible the loose bolt caused your starter motor to shift aft during the start process. If my theory is correct the starter gear may not have meshed with the flywheel to crank the engine. Tighten up the bolt and see if that resolves the issue. CAUTION...Be sure to disconnect the hot lead from your battery before starting this process to avoid arcing the hot starter motor lead.
