It kinda sums it all up when you have to use the word mutiny about a Public message board.

Editing my post with no designation or comment was the last straw for me. Changed my words and represented them as my own.... Liberty and freedom is why I am here!!

Jeff, are you sure you're not from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan? :) That's the kind of thing I'd expect to see on the lake out by Mom's cottage! I'm digging it!

Edit: (Of course, up there, the actual engine would be removed to make room for beer... :))
Thats fuckin awesome. So can you get a BUI when just running the trolling motor? Cause thats a hell of a beer drinkin machine.

I went back on yjb to look at a few of my old posts and the links to them have been severed. So all the pointing links to my threads, comments, installs, and help...are just not searchable anymore. I don't get the motivation behind this...it effectively neutralizes any help that yjb is. And we could link all the help in the world to anyone wanting it, but if the links don't work...well, you get my point. Here is where the help is...and is powered by all the helpers!

That can't happen because I don't drink ,never did actually.

And I was the guy who started the site down thread over there, I do have to admit my anger got the best of me, I was away from the forum for a long time after our SX230 went to a new home, and then @Bruce called me up and I got into the middle of what was a flashback to 2007 when we attempted a small scale mutiny. Anyways, this is a new home with a bunch of old friends that I have enjoyed over the years. Glad they let me hang out not owning a boat any longer ;)
You can take the man out of the boat but you can't take the experience out of the man @SuperJetDan. Glad to have your experience and camaraderie.

It"s very logical just like shutting off the web page to keep people from leaving, or screwing the people who supported the site and seriously tried to help him.
I know you supported him , I always tried to support him and that site until I realized it was in a death spiral and he was at the controls in total denial.
What goes around comes around, I opened up my sale to members of that board as a positive gesture so they understand this isn't us against them, we are all boaters , most of us have made the same mistake and spent a lot of time and money supporting the wrong board, eventually they will see what's really going on just like we did. And they will know they have a place to get the best help and support . I recall one of Jeff's rules when I joined that board about a decade ago. he never interfered with the process, he never told people what to post or not to post. Oh the sun is out time to go play on the water.

When there was a blowup in the logo thread last year by his wife, I wrote a paragraph how they should not treat their members like that as they are the ones that make the site successful. Nevertheless, she completely ignored my comment and went on about how the members were wrong.

I just think it's funny that I saw this coming over a year ago. But....at the same time I'm glad it did because this site is so much better and feels free-er and is better run than the old site.

I suspect that this site wont arbitrarily go offline multiple times a year for days without notice. This is a GREAT thing!

I recalled that about Jeff too....He was very hands off in most cases and it was a lot of fun for the most part back then.........

Its all fresh and clean and new, like a new romance........But let's see if we have the discipline and willingness to do the hard work when the time comes, and just like a relationship.....the true test comes when times get hard, emotions run high and mettle is tested.....

Too funny....

But lets not go Cyber bombing things! Nothing wrong though with the occasional post over there that includes a subtle hint about our existance...if Brian deletes those references (indirect), he really has lost his grip on reality.

Also would be great if anyone posts how to videos on Youtube, to include the site URL on the video! Or post comments on existing videos with our URL....

I haven't jumped in on any of these threads until now (and I'm glad to see there haven't been many - I'd rather keep things positive) but I'm gonna call this my last chance to throw in my 2 cents on the topic. .................. First, I must admit I'm one of the folks who was (mostly) oblivious to what was going on. ......... Now it's time to move on! ......... Let's get out there on the ice! .... I mean water!
Just my personal 2 cents worth (maybe even less ....... LOL !) but this was a wonderful post. a) Well said ... b) well summarized ... c) accurate and also .... d) Timely. Many thanks for taking the time to compose this. We need to always be reminded of what "got us to the Dance" ....... Helps to keep us well grounded. Again ....... Simply excellent ! THANKS !

Hello all. We are the "almost" new owners of a "new" '08 Black SX 230. After much research on your site here, talking with several pre-owned sellers, dealers, etc. We have pulled the trigger but do not take delivery of our new boat until Friday 3/13/09 (supposed to be raining).

We had a northern dealer make us an offer too good to refuse so we decided to go new...but last years model. Not wanting to alienate the local dealer, I decided it would be better to at least give them the opportunity to match the deal so that I was more comfortable taking it to them for service. I would have done that anyway but since the boat show pricing was 4K higher down here, I thought it was almost a waist. To my surprise and delight...they matched and saved me a 2000 mile drive! Plus, I don't have to title and license myself after the fact. I bought the boat with the Yamaha mooring cover w/poles, spare tire and mount, all coast guard equip. including life jackets and throw cushion, adaptor plug for my Z71 trailer hookup, and dual hour meters.

I watched two northern dealers sell boats to Texas residents over the last month and a half due to pricing alone it appears. I was blown away that the Dallas dealer went so far as to match what appeared to me to be rock bottom pricing to keep a deal in Texas. I can tell you too that this dealer took my wife and I out for a demo and it had to be around 3 hours all told. We were still undecided and felt that if we were to even buy a boat, it would have to be used. I had told the Dallas dealer all of that. Phil Dill himself called me back and in order to help convince me (my wife) offered to give us the boat for the entire day, stocked with snacks and drinks...he said just call the salesman (Toby, a great sincere guy) after we were done and he would meet us at the dock and put it away for us. That kind of personal attention is worth something and that is what had me call and tell them the deal I had found. I never expected them to match it. I just wanted them to have the chance so that I could feel secure in taking a boat they didn't sell to them for service.

I would not normally mention a dealer or salesman on a online. I just wanted to share my positive experience with all of you here on the YJB website. This dealer had a good boat show so they certainly don't have to cave to pricing pressure. For them, it was about service, customer loyalty, and relationship. They not only told me this, they demonstrated it.

We live between the forks of Lake Ray Roberts (10 minutes to the nearest boat ramp). We will make short outings on that lake but our water of choice has been and will always be Lake Texoma (30 minutes to the nearest ramp). I understand the North Texas YJB Annual Gathering is in August on Texoma. This is our first jetboat and we would love to meet up with some "seasoned veterans". Would some rookies be welcome to stop by the gathering?

I know we will enjoy our new toy and I will be on this website often to gleen more wisdom from all of you. Hopefully, in the future, I will be able to share something I have learned or "fixed" that is helpful to another member here. I am taking delivery without cobra steering. Toby recommended that I get used to it without before I added them. I have read many stories of the nicks and dents that some of you have taken without them...hope that is not a mistake. I may just order them and put them on after my second demo at delivery.

I do have a question which I am sure I have already read and just can't find now...does the bow stop fix and the purple plug fix need to be done to an '08 SX230? The dealer tells me that they have not had any issues with the last couple of year models on either item. Any wisdom you '08 owners could share is appreciated. We will look forward to throttling back and saying hello out on the lake. Thanks for the great website!

Thanks for posting that @Zarrella . The posts are probably there, but the links appear dead to me. If I search for known links, I don't find them. Good memories. I would love to have another one.
