:asshat: Love this! Ass hat - LOL!! That's kind off like - fuck stick

:winkingthumbsup" So Mel has always been very...uh...thorough in his posts!!

I'ld like to say 1 more thing if I might. I WAS going "back" there for awhile as some of y'all also indicated you also were doing. But what I saw was either a bunch of newbies who seemed like the first thing they needed was a good Boating Course FIRST, or people with cheaper, older boats who did not understand why their 15 year old boats had a problem. And never any clear, concise accurate help from other members.
But I never noticed any sense of Brotherhood, or helpfulness "over there." Coming here <
jetboaters.net> is like going outside and breathing CLEAN, GOOD QUALITY air. It just makes you feel BETTER ! Ok, I said my peace.Y'all play nicely now.

I have no idea what happened with the other site. I fall into the category of having a 2001 "old boat" and I admit that I have gone to several other sites to get advice. I am enjoying my LS2000 for the mechanics so reading the historical posts about problems, fixes, and ideas is very cool to me. I know a lot of members here started with LS/LX 2000's.

This is a great site with great features. Nicely done and thanks again for all of the help.

I haven't jumped in on any of these threads until now (and I'm glad to see there haven't been many - I'd rather keep things positive) but I'm gonna call this my last chance to throw in my 2 cents on the topic.

First, I must admit I'm one of the folks who was (mostly) oblivious to what was going on. I kinda suspected something was up with Mel and a few others by the way the tone of their posts changed, but I put it in the "not really my problem" category. Who knows? Maybe someone's going through a rough spot in life. Let it ride.

When the old site went down for an extended period after the group-buy I kinda figured something was up. I'm the type that prefers to give folks the benefit of the doubt, but my "sixth sense" was tingling.

I came over hear and read the tales (Again, I'm glad we've kept these posts few and far between. I'd rather move forward rather than look back.) and then I saw what I think I knew deep down inside but wasn't admitting: We'd all been hoodwinked to one degree or another. The site and all the great info provided by US was the bait. The donations button and the store ("Support our benefactor for all he does for us!") were the hook. And we hooked ourselves by peer-pressuring each other. Our benefactor never had to lift a finger.

I had concerns when the store opened and donations were still being solicited. I held back in 2013 because of it. I'm glad now that I did.

It was only through someone's (short lived) post of a link to this site that came over here. Thankfully.

At first I was a bit suspect (it was -after all - a case of "he said she said") but in no time at all I could see how different things were over here. It felt like it did when I first found the site back in 2009 - with the added bonus of a really great software package.

Still, I waited over there.

Waited for a reply to a thread that seemed to be being policed by some sort of Mafia. Anyone who spoke up was batted down. Anyone who spoke in glowing terms was patted on the head.

Waited to hear the "other side" of the story. When that answer finally came it was so hollow that it echoed.

And now - with the post that started this thread - I see that nothing has changed. But that should be no surprise anyway.

I'll admit that for the last few weeks I've been "peeping through the blinds" over there. It was more out of curiosity than anything. I'm not interested in "drama." I find it boorish. But who doesn't drive past their old house once in a while? At the moment it doesn't look too good over there. Maybe the community will re-form itself with new folks, but if the pattern continues I suspect it won't take too long for them to make their way over here.

In the end I find the events that started this whole thing disappointing, but I am VERY happy with how it ended up. We have a great site with great people. In a few short weeks we've got all the logos, flags, stickers, and beer cozies we could ever want - and we didn't have to ask anyone's permission to do it. The vast majority of the "old-time" posters are here and more continue to trickle over. Our favorite vendors can now join us without feeling like someone is breathing down their necks watching their every move.

I have "logged off" that other site on all of my computers. I'm debating whether I should yank my photos. I didn't upload them to that site. I left them hosted on picasa. All I've got to do is change a couple of folder names and my multi-photo threads will be nothing but a few words and some funny little "missing photo link" boxes. I don't want to do the "sour grapes" thing so I might just leave them and move on. Maybe one of the new folks will find my depth finder install helpful. It's tempting though.

Well, sorry to ramble. I've been waiting almost a month to spew a bit on the topic and thought I'd missed my chance.

Now it's time to move on!

Let's get out there on the ice! .... I mean water!

Winnebago is still frozen solid. No boating for us yet..

Brian read this forum, and has almost certainly already read the above and chuckled about it!
81!! I need to move...:arghh:
I hear ya man! I used to live just south of you! Move South--you won't regret it! Was in the 80's all week, and of course the highs for the weekend will be 69 and 63....grrrrr

When I was doing the test drive for the guy that bought my XR it was 59 and it felt great out!! Maybe I just wanted to be on the water that bad, but I guess a lot of other people felt the same way because there were 6 or 7 other boats out that day.

I would like to apologize for a terribly worded posting I made. I personally think its incredible when people purchase and maintain older boats, rather than "casting them to the wind." And I admire you. From all I have learned here, the LS2000 is still a magnificent jet boat, and a Great boat in general. Thinking about it, I could have translated my thoughts and feelings better. So, once again, I am sorry for what and how I said what I did about people on the other website. And we'll leave it like that.
Lastly, I sincerely hope you'll accept my deepest apologies. Best Wishes to you ....... While peoples in Minnesota got between 6 and 12 iches of ADDITIONAL snow last night, we have maybe THAT much pine pollen today ! Yuck ! But I still caught a 3.5 lb largemouth yesterday, and lost (at the edge of the boat when the line broke) a 4++++ lb largemouth. Lovin' Springtime ........ LOL !
Mikey Lulejian - Leavin' Lake Oconee for the the Panama Canal !

I could not agree with you more. In fact your post is as if I had written it. Well said.

@4x15mph If you're still a member on YJB you can always reach out to Steve45. He has a lot of knowledge on the two strokes. Just don't ask him any political questions.:)

Yeah, this is really sucking. I normally feel good if I can hit the lake by Memorial Day. I normally don't mess with the boat until I've got the spring yard upkeep stuff squared away. Heck, at the rate things are going, that could be in August!

I'll tell you what - how about we meet at the launch by Rainbow Park? If we each bring a chainsaw and a blow torch....:D

@4x15mph, We want all Jet Boats here! And as you know there is lots of knowledge of the Exciters, LS and LX series in our members heads. We just need to figure out how to get it out of them!

The river is starting to open but I think this will be the slowest thaw ever!!
