I was just trying to make sure @anmut doesn't get caught in the crossfire because he was replying to @ripler who was replying to me. (I'm confused just writing this.) No biggie.
So if it's a reply to someone it's quoted as above...at least that's how i do it.

Right, but if you follow the thread, there's my post, followed by ripler's reply, followed by anmut's reply. Then there's your post, which I can't figure out what it's referring to, that's all.

Wow, can't follow the posts anymore, lost interest....

So if you just post at the bottom you are replying to the original post without quoting it. Order has nothing to do with who you are replying to.

Trying to understand why this thread is still up ? We are supposed to be removing any political pictures/threads,

Is this thread /original post ok because the original picture was changed and is only a hyperlink to the article now ?

Juuuuust be glad it's not political anymore........

Scott, you know why. Anything positive is political, anything negative it's about boating safety. Wink, wink, nod nod.

MAybe if I post some flag pics from Saturday. If you'd like me to get the ball rolling I've got about 50 pics. It may do the trick?

I wonder if I can post a picture of the sail boat I was on last weekend. It might blow up the forum AI.

Politics? Where? Looks like a sunken boat with some signage problems. However, I would have expected to see that signage on a sailboat. ????

Gasparilla boat parade happens every year... I haven't heard of any boats sinking due to the wake made by the boat parade goers.

Airplanes crash and Boats sink.... s*it happens. Sucks, but it happens. Can you predict when and where it will happen ?? NO
Can you do everything imaginable to try and prevent it, SURE ! But , many don't do proper maintenance.. Test and clean your bilge pumps OFTEN. You never know when one will fail until you really need it......
Hahaha wtf is that?!

Maybe no one sunk from wakes but what about the dozens of outright crashes going on.

I’d have to rent a boat to attend that one!

LOL so much cross fire! pew pew pew! Thanks!

I don't care what your politics are.I think we can all agree that these parades are getting out of hand when stuff like this starts happening!

Boat parade sinks boat

This is also a good reminder to keep your PFD's close and easy to deploy. I really hope everyone made it out safe from this.
I'll join everyone I see

I thought only boats under 20 feet are required to have flotation. Maybe Yamaha is hiding some in the floor, but between the engine bay, gas tank, and huge ski locker it can’t be very much. I know the gunwales are open all the way through

Yamahas do not sink even when completely swamped. I have seen them full of water and they stay afloat even with people on board.

Gasparilla is slow. A concrete wall of my parents boat house was destroyed when a political boat parade made a tremendous wake by running boats 8 across at wake surfing speeds. I really am surprised that the boats survived that mess. Hundreds of docks and boats were damaged as the parade traveled ~12 miles. I expect the lawsuits will bankrupt the organizers.

I'm not saying I don't believe you, but it's not coast guard required.

I would not rely on my boat to float except maybe upside down with the keel out of the water since I know there is zero foam anywhere in the stern or anywhere under the gunwales from looking with my own eyes.
